3.80 / 5.00 4,200 ViewsI always have my headphones plugged in when I use my laptop but just a second ago, the headphones cut out and it started playing through the speakers. It's like the laptop is just ignoring them but when they're in, the sound changes very slightly. Any help would be much appreciated seeing and I'm an audio artist and I need this fixed ASAP.
Thanks in advance
Firstly, start simple. Was the headphone jack fully in? Sometiesif it's slightly out the sound will obviously come through the speakers instead.
How were they ripped out? You probably messed up your input. :\

They're in fully, and there have been no sharp movements or jerks or anything, it just stopped. WHy does every fucking piece of electroni equipment I ever have ALWAYS fuck up?! ARRRGGGHHGH! Fucking piece of shit.
I had an e-machine that did that if you plugged in headphones, or a mic in the front, came over the spekers anyways, there was a place in the back of the computer to also hook the headphones and mic, and it didnt do it when plugged in there
i didnt notice you said laptop, so my advice was useless, sorry. maybe try compressed air? maybe somthings in the hole, maybe try a new pair of headphones?

I've tried both, still nothing. It's weird because when the headphones are plugged in, the sound that comes out of the speakers gets muffled.

That works but now I can only hear through my headphones, if they aren't plugged in, no sound comes out.

Okay, that's hassle but I don't mind. Now, anybody know why this happened?
Have you changed anything audio driver-wise on your computer lately?
Could be another reason.
Oh, don't be so shy.

Yeah same
fucking shit electronic
Are you using the jacks on the front of your case? If so these connect to pins on the motherboard via simple "push" pins, open up the case and trace the cables back to their point of origin on the motherboard and make sure everythings connected up propperly.
Have you knocked or banged your case recently? that would help to explain why something my have slipped out of place.
Best of luck to ya.
