The only thing that separates magix from audacity is a more accessible layout and and vsts. Although the more recent versions are now very stable and better at handling memory. It's still a slicker version of audacity.

I couldn't agree more. It's ok to start out for a few basics but if you really want to get into music creation for the love of god, get a real audio CREATION software like FL, Cubase, Reason, etc.
