I have a couple friends that are eligible to go and compete for Canada in the 'Triathlon' event. Well, eligible in the sense that there are about 4 of them competing for the spots against the current dude who got 2nd or whatever in the last Olympics.
It's too bad Canada's strict release times don't allow for high level competition to become more mainstream, and help with athlete development.
When I went to the Canadian Interuniversity Sport championships for track and field I met a whole bunch of Olympians there too. It was pretty cool. I ran on the same track as Ben Johnson did, except even in 1986, when he set the track record at the venue, his time was still faster than any Canadian athlete has run at the university level since.
when you talk, i dont care what it means, shouldn't just stare at you, should i?
