A way to cut down ignorant spamming
By ignorant spamming, I mean N00b posts such as questions that could easily be answered by a little reading.

Alright, so every now and then, we see these new posts from new users, or n00bs, that can be loosely marked as, "spam." This usually happens, as I said above, when a n00b has a question, and doesn't know how to navigate through newgrounds/the search bar sucks. My suggestion is, to help cut down on these questions, that every user receives a "welcome" private message, from M-bot, or any other significant bot. Contained within the Private message, or pm would be a mini BBS orientated FAQ with links to post guidelines, rules, and more specific content, such as "Mal's gift to you, review answers"

Now, let us say this does take flight, which links to BBS threads that could help users out would you like in it?

Post the link, what it is, and why you think it should be placed in the pm.

When I join sites I never read the shitty little PM's some bot sends me, and I bet a lot of other people are just like me. Theirs nothing that you can substitute for time put into a website and learning all the trick and tips.

Yeah, at first when I read the OP's post, I thought that was an extremely awesome idea. But, this reply makes loads of steps. I noticed that too, I never read the messages given to me by bots. Almost all of the time, you can assume they are useless, and that assumption would be right!
But as I would classify newgrounds as being slightly unique, in the awesome way, I doubt that message would be useless.

Having a message packed with several links to topics and the FAQ would really reduce the amount of spam/help topics on the forum. That would be a great idea, just that a large amount of people wouldn't bother reading it. Still, this is an awesome idea, and I think it would work perfectly.

Ever sign up for myspace, and there's always that one guy that is "Your friend"? Maybe it could be something like that, from a user that carries a bot's characteristics, but isn't labeled one.

about <5% would do what you mentioned, which leaves the other retarded bunch screwed. Not only that, but we've found out what is okay to do and what isn't through lock examples and bans. New users are prone to become banned like *that* because they don't know the way of how the BBS works. There is only so much you can learn from a read-me.

It's almost requiring you to read 2+ threads each having 20+ pages before you can post in one thread.
As an old regular of Rage's I say fuck involving Mal at all in the introduction of new uers.

I have to agree with you there. Even though Mal's intention is good, he isn't the best suited for something as delicate as that. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the man, he only does what he thinks is best, but we need something a bit more distinct.
