I'm currently using Madtracker, I want to know if there's anything more user friendly or better.

Also, any suggestions for DJ software?

Off the top of my head, Magix is free and Buzzware is free. Buzz is used by The Fats Sabbobah (if you are unfamiliar with his music, I recommend you change that). Basshunter uses Magix and I used it for my song "Killer Space Tomatoes". after a little getting used to, its somewhat flexible and easy to use. I can't say much about Buzz since my OS isn't compatible.

You can also use Audacity to manipulate and record sound files. You can essentially make your own instruments or even beatbox samples by using their sound generator and running it through some FXs. I made a few and used about three in "Judgmental Fish"

Here's a link to some free downloads:

Why, sure it is. From the link I gave and this one.

There is a version you have to pay for, but with more stuff. Ain't into that.

a any rate, it comes with a drum machine and synth. you can add effects, there's tempo control over selections, drums have pre-made drum tracks with a bunch of different styles. Once you got a handle on it, it is very easy to use.

Or you could read the stickies and find a whole list of software, some of it free.

Magix is the company, not the software. The software is Magix Music Maker. Maybe I'm just being nitpicky, but I believe it's important to be accurate. Magix also makes some VERY pricey pro-audio software (check out Sequoia).

Just clarifying so you don't go looking for the wrong thing!

Reaper is a fantastic DAW that is just as good and has just as many capabilities as any market DAW. It's absolutely free and I use it for my recording.

Too lazy to learn how to use it? I was too, until I read DeathBySpoon's sweet tutorial on OverClocked ReMix
