What I would like to know is, how no one at a shooting range noticed someone pointing a gun at the back of a person's head?

" Why arn't you shooting yet? Shouldn't you be shooting? Because that's generally what you do here."
There is no way anyone could of reacted in enough time to save the boys life. Even the other guy in the video had his back turned and earmuffs on, in fact he's lucky he didn't die too.I agree on the last part most certainly. But my question is still valid. It took time for her to wait until she felt no one was paying attention, it took time for her to raise the gun then pull the trigger.
Yeah, about 4 seconds. Considering the video was one of those cameras that shoots at one frame per second or something. Four seconds for anyone to question why was a woman standing at a firing range with a gun. No body could of seen it coming, no one. Even if someone outside was watching there is no way anyone could of stopped it, save screening entrants before they get in, in the first place.
Wasn't she banned there as well?

Man, a shooting at a gun range.
Who'd have guessed?
If each mistake being made is a new one, then progress is being made.

What does pyschic powers have to do with anything? I guess it takes someone with a 6th sense or super human capabilities to notice someone standing that far back out the booth pointing a gun and wonder if someone is in the booth already?

One second can seem like an enternity. People save other people all the time. Not always from being shot but it does happen. If someone was an inch away from you and was about to be get hit by a car in 4 seconds what would you do? Stand there and say "I'm not a hero i need more than a few seconds?"
Wasn't she banned there as well?
How would i know?
I'm not saying it was a gonna be clear as day what she was doing. My point is...she waited until she felt it was safe otherwise she would have done it with that man looking at her point blank. It looked like he was assisting them and setting up the target for the mother. I garantee you if he was watching them the whole time she wouldn't have done it. But face it, there are ALOT of nosy people in this country. Someone noticed something. Someone ALWAYS notices something.
Thread killer and proud of it :)
This is the creepiest thing about it all :
"'I had to send my son to heaven and myself to Hell'"
The ignorance in this thread is staggering. Seriously, fuck all you religious bashing nimrods. You absolutely don't know shit about what you're flapping your stupid gobs about. Your personal angst and ignorance is leading you like sheep to draw baseless conclusions using a single incident, the details of which have been brought to you by the fucking popular press.
Morons.

You have to take her mental condition into consideration man. I guess you could be so cynical as to figure that every person, regardless of their brain structure is acting under their own, rational will. Sure, it was technically her choice... but you don't know what kind of reality she was experiencing. CLEARLY it was troubled. If she was psychopathic I could understand your lack of empathy... but consider if you were drunk and smashed someone's lamp. Would you want people to assume you set out to break that lamp on purpose? Yeah, it's a seriously diluted metaphor but it applies.
Think about it.

Thats plain stupid, the authorities let her keep a son for 20 years despite her being completely crazy.
I surely hope this incident is not misused or misconstrued in ways that would help to convince certain people to allow certain restrictive laws to be passed.

Oh, like turning round and shooting hte other guy too? Or maybe blowing up the whole firing range. Explain one way in which it could be worse, and don't post a picture of those fucking stupid retarded penguins.
And I think that they should at least have treated her for her medical condition, or at the very least make sure she couldn't touch a firearm.
Damn american gun laws.

it's not like she took her good sweet time aiming the the gun, she just pulled and fired. Come on, you would need to be standing right next to her to stop that.

A car and a person pulling a gun are totally different. You can see a huge bulky mass of metal barreling at you. A woman pulling a gun at a shooting range is something you might not immediately react to. There was literally no one near her that could of done anything, especially before the first shot.
Wasn't she banned there as well? How would i know?
Article says:
"She had apparently been barred from Shoot Straight seven years ago after trying to commit suicide there, her ex-husband - Mitchell's father - told police."
I'm not saying it was a gonna be clear as day what she was doing. My point is...she waited until she felt it was safe otherwise she would have done it with that man looking at her point blank. It looked like he was assisting them and setting up the target for the mother.
Yeah, pretty much.
I guarantee you if he was watching them the whole time she wouldn't have done it.
...Are you serious? That guy was oblivious to everything wrong with the woman. He had no natural reason to be concerned.
But face it, there are ALOT of nosy people in this country. Someone noticed something. Someone ALWAYS notices something.
Yeah, maybe they noticed after the first shot.

Good one.
I wonder what atheists would say if this person was an atheist and shot her son and herself.
Nothing. She's hardly gonna say "the God that doesn't exist told me to do it because I am an evil that doesn't exist!".
She would probably have killed hereself but if she wasn't religious I doubt she would have dragged her son down with her. She believed her son was "tainted", and he'd be better off dead now.
If an athiest did it it would probably be purely because of mental issues.

I saw the video on friday. It wasn't much to see.
But it's still sad that a mother would do such a thing.
