I've never been in a relationship (because they're really shitty at a young age), but they've never said they're in love. If they're at least the age of 15, they might devirginate, but there's never love.

They say they are "in love" because they like the person that they are going out with. The fact that they have the status (Boy/girl)friend they automatically think that they "love" this person they know or are going out with.

I'm basically a sociopat. This means that I pratically have no feelings for anyone, even the closest people of me. I spend all my life being like that. The despite for everyne that crosses my way, lead me to depression. My parents send me to psiquiatrics. Even taking anti-depressives, I still couldn't feel no affection for people at all. I had no interest on girls, eve having 16 year old, what means that I should be humping on feminine legs by then, but no, they all just seemed like fucking bags of meat and bones. Disposable.
Some chicks (not ugly ones) used come to me and say "you're so pretty, why you don't talk more?"
And I used to feel like stabbing them right there, but I usually just answered "I don't have anything to say..." and then I'd leave.

That was for sure, the worst times of my life and I nearly killed myself. I couldn't stand living in the same world of these people. Watching them with their fake emotions. I was sure that love was jst something made-up, so people could give meaning to their pathetic and empty lifes
A year after that, I met a girl. In beggining she caught my attention, but not enough to have any feelings yet. The time passes and she starts to talk more to me (because I wouldn't have any entusiashm to talk to her). Turns out that she was different, and we were very alike. We'd share the same tastes on almost every way. It takes time, but I start to get closer to her, and I didn't felt like killing or manipulating her and stuff, wich was something new. It was just about 4 months later that I realized that I loved her, and I felt like a shit face, since I always was so fucking ignorant, saying that all the love in the world was fake, and now I was experiencing that. Fucking hipocrite...
I just realized that was love, when I asked myself "how far would I go for her?" and the answer was that I would fucking die for her, without exitating. And I wasn't lying to myself, like so many people do.

Well there's a long story there, but to get direct to the point: She helped me t get off depression. I became a better person (I still dislike most of people though) and we're dating for about 5 months now.
This is the closest thing I can imagine of true love. It took me 17 years, not just to be in love, but to even feel smething for someone...
I don't expect that kids can understand this kind of thing

Love is much more complicating. You feel like it can last forever, and you want it to last forever. But in the end it usually doesn't work out at such a young age. It's called being addicted to your partner, and anyone who has a had a serious relationship knows what that is like.

Limiting the target age as 13 to 16 is grossly inaccurate. I don't know why people around here seem to think there's much difference between the ages of 13 and 14, 16 and 17, or 18 and 19. When you start approaching 30, you tend to look back and see that most everyone, including yourself, was pretty much fucked in the head until damn near 22. The teen years in their entirety are a transitional phase into early adulthood, then early adulthood is a transition into becoming a soulless meatpuppet. There's no sense in slicing every year up into a subcategory as if each one has major achievements.

No teenage relationship is going to last. They aren't even meant to last. At that young age, any relationship should be considered "practice" for later in life. There's a lot of trial and error involved in figuring out the opposite sex, and there is no set age at which one figures it out either. There are people in their 40's who still haven't a clue as to what they are doing.

Adolescent hormones get confused all too often with genuine feelings. When two teenagers say they are in love, more likely they are simply acting on chemical impulse and the instinctive desire for paired mating, the proper protocol for which they do not yet understand much like many things in life. Those same hormones cloud judgment and make relationships unstable from the get go.

A proper relationship doesn't start on a school bus, in a mall or when you ask your friend to go talk to a girl for you and tell her you like her. The cultivation of a genuine relationship takes far greater an amount of time than one spends staring at a classmate in the back of Social Studies. Which brings to mind another relevant point: we begin to covet that which we see every day. You want to date a girl/boy from your school primarily because that person is mildly familiar. The odds of you being a perfect match for a person with whom you go to high school with are astronomical, so don't fret when the relationship goes south. It was bound to happen anyway.

Besides, who wants to be tied down throughout their high school/college career anyway? You got to move around, stay loose, and get as much practice in as possible so when you do meet the right person later in life you are emotionally developed enough to maintain a mature and responsible relationship. More of that trial and error process.

I dont want to get "anything" from anyone but I still love this person. No one can tell me when I am "in love" or that I love somebody. Ya'll think half of us teens just feel an infatuation, though that may be true I don't see it that way.
