Lol, Kansas.

There's not much here, but it's cheap to live here, and overall pretty nice.

I'd say California.

It depends on where you are in CA. I've lived in 3 states so far (MA, MD, and CA) and none of them could be considered the worst. I'd say the backcountry, probably, although I can't say that for sure.

South Florida. The only fun thing is the beaches and the theme parks, but after living here your whole life you start to hate it.

Our crime rate is lower than other states, and that's with the heavy places like Comptom, L.A., and Oakland...

Otherwise, CA is one of the safest states to live in... San Jose being on of the best in terms of crimes per year (although, they have went up.)

I don't think there are states that are terrible, but I know I would hate to live in a state where its industry would either be farming or ranching...

People work all day, and don't do anything else... the big thing to do is probably to walk around in the local shopping plaza. God, that would kill me...

The WORST is Washington State. The weather yesterday was amazing. Yet today it rained off and on, and there's been no sun in sight.
bleh.

The weather is so unpredictable.

New Jersey has the worst roads. It especially isn't helpful to have bumps the size of Texas while you have to go pee.

According to this PSA delivered to the great citizens of Ottawa the correct answer is Michigan.

But I'm going to have to go with Ohio. The speed limits suck and they don't even have a real hockey team. It smells like rotten eggs all over the place and it touches way too much of West Virginia.

New Jersey smells like horse shit.
New York smells like bum piss.
And I've never been to Connecticut.

So any state in the Tri-State area would be an acceptable answer to this question.

Oh man how could I forget Florida. I lived there for about a month, and it completely took the charm away for me. Shanty towns, hicks and crime is everywhere. Essentially everything I hate about America, wrapped up in one giant ball of awful.

I grew up in Gainesville. The worst town to be a kid in. There was a pedophile and several other sex offenders that lived right next door to my grade school. They all love everything Gators, and despise everything with a shadow of originality hiding in a corner behind it. I've heard from the only decent person I ever met there that they all either became emo/scene kids or gangbangers. I moved to Tennessee when I was 12, and I much prefer it here, where everyone is friendly and content with their ignorance of the beauty of their surroundings (deer, trees that bloom in the spring, people who wave when you drive by). There are only two groups of people here, and the groups seem to dissolve in high school: preps, the girls who love overpriced clothes and are somewhat ditsy and the guys who play every kind of sport imaginable, and everyone else, which would be the big group of people who just fit where they can. Band geek, hippie, nerd, goth, it doesn't matter to us. There aren't enough kinds of people here to distinguish yourself from everyone else and still have friends. Despite being boring, it might be for the better.

TL;DR- Florida sucks, and even Tennessee is better than it. Overall worst though, would be some Midwest state in the middle of nowhere, like New Mexico or Oklahoma.

Nah, I'd have to go with Wyoming. That states so boring there isn't even a stereotype.. it's just Wyoming..

The best is NJ / New York City. I live in NYC, and it's the best and some of my family lives in North Jersey and it's nice there. Anyway this area gets all the season so you experience everything, beaches in the summer and snow in the winter. Not too hot, not too cold. I like it.

Hey now, I don't know much about Nebraska, but Kansas isn't the worst. We may not be your New York or Florida, but we're not the worst. Crime rate is pretty low, pollution (except for one wierd instance) is low. Wichita provides good enough entertainment, plus two new arenas are built, and KC is easily accessible for whatever you need.

Wow I rambled, anyway, I hear everyone diss on New Jersey, so maybe that. Also, states like Wyoming or Idaho don't seem to be very popular states to live in.

Interesting--no one's said Alaska yet, which is where I would think conditions are at their worst. There's perpetual winter in the northern regions, no one outside the states cares what happens to you, and on top of all that, your governor is a ditz who get the place blown up by the Russians.
