I Hate Being At The "top"

Ok first of all, this is a very serious thread. So please take this seriously... no the top isnt the position during sex because i know tons will think thats what this is about. It isnt.

When I say the "Top" I mean getting online fame from a game. This fame, i feel, isnt deserved by me at all. I got weekly 3rd and daily 1st for saying ROAR into a microphone. This ROAR is now heard in a game that over 250,000 have already seen across multiple sites. I thought it would be fantastic to be in this position, but instead I feel completely depressed. I hate myself.

Not only has this moment of fame brought my mind down to a depressing level, it has also made me completely obsessed over Newgrounds. I sit here at a computer for hours and hours until I have to go to sleep. I get up, get on the computer for 10 minutes, got to school, where I get on for about an hour, then get back home and get on for 6 hours until I go to bed. This fame that should completely go towards I-Smel, the artist and author of the game, has made me happy yet very very sad...

The thing that really gets me is I DONT KNOW WHY I am sad. Who in the hell wouldnt want weekly 3rd and daily 1st on a game?! I love that I got it, but I just feel like many people spit at me for being credited. They think I dont deserve that trophy.

So anyway I have become very spiritual the past week or so. *I was spiritual before, but this depression brought me closer to God* I am now chatting with a famous NG user about god almost every night, which has improved my insight about life. At least some good came out of this.

You know what? I think this depression is coming from simple teenage hormones. Well... I am wondering if anyone else has felt like crap like this before. Please share your experiences here and thoughts.

The NG user I am talking about probably doesnt want me to mention him so please dont ask who : : he is. Thanks.

Really? Well I am not bragging at all. I am just wondering if anyone else has felt like this before. I never said I didnt want the trophies, and I am very thankful for them. I am saying I am confused on to why I am so sad. Jeez why is everyone have to flam so much? Thats complete BS.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. My brother made a Firefox extension called "Download Status bar". He did 99.999% of the work, but I made a "download finished" sound for him. I nearly committed suicide when it became the #1 Firefox extension and got millions of downloads.

I strive for the top, the only time I get depressed over it, is after the attention ot a new movie ends. That slight sadness quickly turns into ambition again as I want to get more attention... But talking to the Big Dogs on Newgrounds has become pretty kickass. XD

HAH! That is EXACTLY what has happened. Thanks a lot for that, i was hoping SOMEONE would understand. I just need to treat it as if it were nothing so I can do even better in my next accomplishment.
