North Korea will never have the balls or ability to actually nuke a nation, especially the U.S.

I myself am a Korean-American, and I have relatives in South Korea. So this situation is quite unsettling, yet there's nothing to fear about.

It's all politics and power struggle. This isn't Ghost Recon, and the situation probably isn't going to go awry.

All North Korea wants is a tool that will give them power and defense in a state that is so dependent on its ideology and isolation.

I actually live within the projected range of the ICBM's too, so it's a pretty scary thought, yet I don't fear anything one bit.

It's not extensively tested, and it hasn't proven its worth yet.

It's definitely not a system you would want to stake your national security on.

There has been far worse and unstable times in East Asia, yet no conflict has arisen.

Even if North Korea does get the capability, all they can do is threaten us.

Actually, it's not funny because after the joke, he practically bragged about how 'offensive' he is..

Basically what is happening is that Korea is having (or had) a 'rocket test'. The gossip amongst the UN was that the rocket may very well be a Nuclear missile (or an ICBM) targeting the US or the US territories. Korea had warned Japan that the 'rocket' may be flying over their country, and Japan had said that if it goes over their land they will shoot it down. So Japan lined up battle ships, ready to shoot down the 'rocket' if it flew over and Korea said that if they shot it down there would be "major consequences" .

Now, knowing that Korea is a fairly militaristic (and communist!) state, they basically threatened war. So because Japan is a protectorate of the United States, that would mean we would potentially be at war with Korea if Japan shot the 'rocket' down. So as you can see, it's all just gossip and bragging just like high school.... on a bigger level :P.

But, by now we know that Korea's missile failed yet again.

I don't think that korea will ever really nuke us. I mean i don't think we should stop fearing them but they use nukes. They know if they did we'd light them up like the 4rth of july.
