3.80 / 5.00 4,200 ViewsJust yesterday the download speed changed from 50 kbps to 10 kbps... I was downloading a torrent and because I wanted to do some MSN and browsing, I set the download limit to 10 kbps.
The internet disconnected a few times while I was on MSN, nothing out of the ordinary. A few minutes later I signed out and changed the download limit of my torrent to unlimited and it would not go past 10 kbps. It's been like that ever since, and it's not just the torrent, it's the down load speed of my whole computer AND the other computer our modem is connected to.
It takes forever just to view my NG userpage and the NG logo is still loading as I type this message.
Also, I know my internet connection is very slow, but it's slower than it ever should be.
This ever happened to anyone here on NG? Anyone know how to fix it?
Thanks for your time.

You must be running on DSL because I had the same problem until my parents switched to cable.
Fuck you.
Try resetting your modem by unplugging it for 10 seconds. If that doesn't work, I would recommend calling your Internet Service Provider and troubleshooting with them.

Thanks for the help. Unfortunately, it didn't work but the internet came back on this morning. I think my ISP may have had some trouble with their servers.
Try resetting your modem, making sure all the wires are in firmly etc.
