I'm not so sure that marijuana is a carcinogen, but it's rather certain that it does leave tar in your lungs (more cigarettes because of the non-filtration). Though, scientific studies have shown that there are long term effects that effect your hand-eye coordination and the part of your brain that influences decision making. Also, most teenagers will smoke weed and cigarettes in their youth, and studies have also shown that it effects bone growth and puberty (by stunting growth and slowing the process of your biological maturity)
To me, none of it seems worth it. Don't get me wrong, I've been there/done that (I am a teenager after all), but lately I've been eating healthier and working out... I just feel happier and better when I don't do that stuff, and I have the sense of pride that I am above it.
