That would be great, but I think enough crazy shit happens in the real world that you guys need to start giving not only a little bit more benefit of the doubt, but maybe consider you might be wrong.

Anyhow, the other reason for not accusing, without evidence, that something is copied and pasted from elsewhere is that you can still talk about the subject even if its a complete lie! Just because something isn't real doesn't mean you can't have something to say about it besides, "this can't possibly be real." My response to that is, you couldn't possibly be more dull.

On a final note, if something is copy and pasted somewhere else, rather than posting such, pm a moderator. I'm not going to see your post if I don't read the thread, and I would have seen the thread earlier if you had pm'd me.

Seriously though, when someone copies an argument or story from another website or such, without actually mentioning it's not theirs, it's like they're taking it as their own, and that just doesn't sit right with me.

Conversely, when someone says a topic is plagiarized, but fails to mention from where, it takes merit away from that statement.

So yeah, I'm for this. It's quite annoying when someone calls a decent story/argument copy pasta without proof.

Usually it is because they are not used to semi-intelligent to intelligent things unless they see it from a book, another person, or anything. People who use "Copy Pasta" like that are not used to original ideas.

Both ways. I've always banned people who copy and paste shit from other places, but I'm also going to ban users for spouting "this is copy pasta." Its not that I've never done this before, this isn't new, I've just seen far too much of it lately and thought, hey why not give them a warning instead of banning and see if they get the message?
