well i tried to do anotherone with this laptop...i forgot my damn powercord at home but i bought one when we drove into town to pick some shit up....so if i hurry maybe i can get it done?....anyways wish i played sick today and got my wip in order and finished it

Naah.. It looks great. Awsome powerfull layout. Only thing that bothers me is that little zombie part of her arm. It sort spoils her looks, but that is just me. What can I say.. I like me chicks with a pulse :P

I am very very slow.... and its been literally years since I've done any digital drawing.
(and fine maybe it was more like 2 hours...)

Yeah pretty much. Its a different mind set working digitally with layers and transparencies and that's not even getting into the blending and filtering options (not even going to start on the sensitivity vs. insensitivity of a small tablet).
Also being removed from the piece (drawing while not actually looking at your hand) requires a certain type of thinking that at one point I had, but being a bit out of practice with that style of hand eye coordination is also a bit of a challenge.
Add all that with the fact that I am a some what physical drawer who uses whole arm movements typically as opposed to small little wrist twitches and does a lot of toning and blending with the physical media itself digital is practically an entirely different language for me.

I'm happy I did this project though because it got me started again on working digitally, something which I have needed to do, but haven't really had motivation for a while till this project so expect nothing but improvement on future ones.

I totally get that. I'm not sure if my finished article will make it through or not but regardless, I learnt stuff, improved slightly and had fun. So pretty productive!

I did realize while printing this that I didn't work in CMYK. The other two yes, but this one I forgot. No big changes. Some of the lighter greens get lost. MIght try to bring those back out if this gets picked.

Pox - I think all the contests should be 2 months instead of 1. And I think if we had had the 2 months up front you would have gotten more entrants. People doing finals (or whatever) might not have a reason to start a 'long term' project. Busy for 2/4 weeks = Why bother. Busy for 2/8 weeks = I can swing that. I'd even bet that if the 2 months were known up front there would have been more entries. It gives people time to start and quit a few times. For those of us that worked within the original due date it gave us time to work on more entries.

I think the reason there aren't many participants is because of the risque nature of the theme. It sounds silly, but most other contests have done much better than this or the Heavy Metal cover contest.

Creepy video game characters sounds fun, but there's not a lot of room for originality there. Most pics based on the same games are probably gonna be extremely similar.

I don't think the risqué nature of it is actually the factor that caused the low participation. It might be the fact that its drawing chicks period. There is a stigma behind drawing women to make them unnaturally hot or attractive, which discourages a lot of people when they try and their chick comes out looking ugly or normal.

Nasty looking viedo game characters? Sounds like fun, especially seeing as we (well, I) could apply so many war themes to it. By that I mean the horrors of war.

Example: A while ago I did a very quick sketch of mario turning a koppa into a coin with flames and titled it 'the game' and next to that did a sketch of mario frying a live koopa with a flame thrower and titled it 'real life' lol.

Well we'll never know. I think it mainly depends on if the staff makes starting pics or not but then again I got surprisingly good results for the Heavy Metal mag thing.

If I knew how to make people participate, I'd do it, but on the other hand it sucks to have to pick only like 5 winners out of 30 really good entries.
