I was just looking at some posts on the BBS, seeing how much of them are gushing with patriotism, I though I'd ask this simple question:

Who do you think has the most pride for his nation? Im talking about a certain type of people.

My vote goes to... believe it or not, the canadians. See, I've made the observation that most canadian posters have to sneak some sort of mention of Canada in every single post they put on the BBS. A notable example would be RugbyMacDaddy(no offense meant). My personnal theory is that Canadians are bent obn proving that they are better than their southern brethren. Hell, wer'e always justifiyng how Canada is better than the U.S. in every damm way, and im getting sick of it. Can't we just admit whats wrong with our nation, and what is good in our neighbor the U.S.? When you get down to it, wer'e hardly any different from each other.

Of course, runner up goes to the patriotic american. Im generelazing a little, but they don't give up their ground quite easily. Sometimes they can be quite stubborn as well.

Actually I would have to say that Americans on this website are the least patriotic of any national group overall. Not saying that there aren't plenty of stubborn and patriotic Americans here, but we also have our share of "liberal guilt self loathing Americans" here to counterbalance. I agree that the canadians are the most patriotic on this website.
I also have noticed multiple examples of our British visitors get quite self righteous with regards to their own nation (especially when gun control is the subject of the day).
Who else is it that visits this site? A couple dutch, a couple fins, a couple belgians... I dunno, not enough of them all to stereotype except they are vehemently anti-american as a whole.

But then again "patriotism" is a subjective term and in my book it means being unaware or in denial of your country's past and present wrongdoings. Instead of provlaiming how great your country is, because it's far from perfect, you should embrace what it has and what is doing wrong and start working for a country worth being proud of.

Its not that I think Canada is better because I live here. I feel a need to stand up for CAnada. First of all its my country, second of all it ALWAYS gets picked on by media, other countries and some NG users. Look at the epesode of the Simpsons where they end up in Canada. They make fun of Canada many times, plus sterotype us. Our mounties only wear the red uniform when its a occasion that calls for dress uniforms, the rest of the time they dress like any other cops. Or the epesode where they move cause Homer gets a job in another nuke plant. They make the slow kid from CAnada and say they think Im slow because im from CAnada. We get shafted by the US gov't. Trips cancelled, harassment at borders. Anything happens the first and standard responsed is blame Canada. Its CAnada's fault terrorists got through the American Border Patrol into the US. CAnada's fault for the blackout, MAd Cow. Tariffs (which are illegal according to NAFTA, WTO, World Court) on softwood from Canada. BAn our beef then expect us to accept yours.
There are things wrong with our country. We dont have enough dr cause we dont pay them enough so they go to the US where the money is. Hospitals are overcrowed, ER waits long, but its free so its a trade-off. The gun registry program is a waste of tax dollars and stupid even if it cost us nothing. Dont get me started on language laws in Quebec. The US has benifits. You CAN make more money, but most people dont end up though. Health care is faster. You got more shit (in a good term, like entertainment and stuff). Its safer then most countries and in better economical condition than nearly everyplace.
