Lets get in-depth. Why do you want to know? That magazine only or any form of gaming magazine?
Not trying to be a cunt (sorry if I appear so) but literally, just wondering.

Well people always tend to bash IGN for their reviews (mainly because IGN gave their favorite game a bad score), but I always saw Game Informer reviews as the best source for reviews.

I used to be subscribed to PCZone, and if I was going to suscribe to any magazine now, it'd be Edge, who have the best articles in pretty much any magazine in the UK. But they're not plastic wrapped in the shops so I can just go to WH Smiths and read them there, hence no incentive to suscribe.

I usually buy games master here in the uk seeing as it covers all genres. Or PC gamer if I have the money. Most magazines are way to expensive though, £5+ usually for the console specific ones with the free demos, despite now getting demos for free.

I somehow managed to read most of an Edge while bored one day. In WHSmith. Gotta love lazy staff :)

Similarly, on a different day a computer in PC World had a copy of Quake Wars running. Demo in a way that it had one level. I stood there playing on it for ages, only poked by an employee once.

Once i decided to move on and head home, my legs had other ideas. Don't stand still for ages because your legs will not like it.

I have one, but I haven't read the last three issues. I just haven't had time lately, and whenever I do I would rather be doing something besides reading a gaming magazine.

But, it's by far the best gaming magazine I've read.

I've been refurbished and reissued, prepackaged and precooked, decontaminated and deloused, but I still smell, sound, look and feel like shit.

I have a subscription, only because I bought a Game Stop Edge Card, and subscription was for some reason mandatory.
There just IGN printed on paper.
I only care to read the game related news and previews, they are a nice source for info on new games.

Like any other magazine, I don't care for the reviews.
But it's a shame because they used to be the shit.
The submitted pictures aren't even good anymore.

The March issue is a shining example on my theory on the American consumer bias on shooting games, because the first 4 pages were all shooting game ads.

No real need for gaming mags with such great news from dev blogs and online news sites, I prefer getting my news when it happens and being free is always good.

I do. Like I once said, the guys running it are so anti-Wii that it's sick. With almost every chance they get, they attack it and focus their good comments on upcoming PS3 and 360 games. Some of their attacks are just stupid. Like one page being an ad for Dead Rising Wii saying "Tired of playing music games?". "Fuck yeah man, there's so many goddamn music games exclusive to the Wii that I can't even count man."

BUT, I also subscribe to Nintendo Power. So one magazine tells me about the games I waiting for on Wii and DS, where the other tells me what PS3 games are on the horizon. It doesn't really matter that GameInformer only talks about Nintendo games 15% of the time in each magazine, but I often skip a lot of things in these ones compared to how little I skip stuff in Nintendo Power. In NP, all I skip is the generic anime RPG games that look uninterestingly ghey.

Ok what's the point of editing what someone else said? I understand if they said a lot and you want to qote them, but why would you do it? Are you trying to be an asshole or something? But back on topic, I used to have a subcription back in 05, my mom insisted and I got it. I have to say I loved it, I would read it whenever I had the chance, even the reviews for games that I couldn't get since it was on a different system than what I had back then.

I'll pick up an issue every once in a while, it's a pretty solid gaming magazine. I mostly like it for the reviews and some of the articles.

Drop me a PM to talk about junk, serious or silly.

I just got a subscription. First I had one to Gamepro, but they were all idiots. Then I had one to EGM, which seems to have disappeared off the planet. So now I have one for Game Informer. From what I've read, it's really well done.

I got a 1 year subscription from selling a bunch of my old games that I haven't touched in years along with an edge card.

I enjoy reading it
