Finally no more China stuff in NG!

I am so happy that old newgrounds are back.In one second I panicked because i couldnt view my favorites.

I am crackin up at all those posts and what they said beliving that yesterdays April Fool's prank was real! Really shows how gullible people can be, but then again it was a really well thought out and executed prank; especially when you made it so that certain words that could clue other people into the prank was automatically edited so gratz on the prank :D

Chinese ran newgrounds was funny, but terrible. Bring back the red tho, it looked really good

Voting was closed, hard work was its own reward, everything with blood censored.... I think i've seen a lighter side to life!

I was joking around that people would take the change seriously. I'm sad to see that actually happened. There is no hope for the future. :P

As many of you noticed, yesterday we tried to change Newgrounds to comply with Chinese regulations and get unblocked in China. While we felt the end result did a decent job at filtering the site, the Chinese government ultimately decided that NG was still a platform for too many ideas.

The freedom of expression! If only it was worldwide, no?

:To continue being unblocked, we would have to have shut down blogs, as well as close the Flash and Audio Portals.

I received hundreds of concerned PMs from users who did not approve of the changes.

Well, China didn't work out. Oh well. Obviously without the flash and audio portal, NG wouldn't be what it is...And I'm sure without blogs the internet would probably not exist. XD
And how 'April' (fools) was changed to 'China' (rules)...that was hilarious! I received a PM from another user and could not understand half of it!

Shows how intelligent people who live in countries with freedom of speech and who follow capitolism really are ;)

But seriously, good prank. Can't believe some people fell for it. Great fucking effort though. Skins, word filters, everythign was really well set up. I really appreciate the time and dedication you guys put into that. Most pranks are pretty lazy, but this was really all encompasing.

Is everyone fucking retarded? Yesterday during the "China Unblocked" fiasco, did no one think to themselves "Hey, its April Fools Day! Wow Tom you really got me! Good one!" ? Everyone who actually got upset at the hysterical joke Tom was playing on us all should shut the fuck up and suck a dick.

Lmao. I was worried for about two seconds that this was going to last all week or something, and then I noticed the date and it all clicked. Damn that was a pain in the ass, I was without gore for a whole day.

WOW, I never thought people would buy that! I mean, come on....on April 1st, the entire site just HAPPENS to change to a very stereotypical and occasionally borderline racist layout? Personally, I died laughing when I got onto the website, so good job Tom and company, that was pretty epic

I can't believe that we came THAT CLOSE to not having the Portals anymore. Seriously Tom, if you did all those changes and kept 'em that way, you might get a bunch of sales in China, but almost EVERYONE ELSE would have said 'Screw this' and left Newgrounds forever. You made a good move.

Nice joke, guys, but the fact still remains that I couldn't get help on the forums for a full day. All's well that ends well, I guess, but that's a whole day that I could have used to work on my game, and I'll never get it back. Not to mention I'm on a time limit here with the trial version of flash, so it's even more important that I get this done quickly. You stole a whole day from me, guys, I want it back! This year's Pico day better make up for this.
