These people had actually bought the joke, on the first of April. Honestly, whatever happened to common sense? Good work Tom Fulp, but these people who sent you hate mail either don't have calendars, or they block out the fact that the first of April is 'April Fools Day' in order to block out the memories of them having their asses handed to them through the power of pranks.

Okay i have several things to say so here they are:

1. I knew it was an april fools joke when i saw the front page, so i wasn't even fooled.

2. I don't know about the rest of you but i would really like to know when the Street Fighter Collab is gonna be done.

I thought Newgrounds was about expressing yourself through flash and game and to be able to honestly review these games and flashes fairly, with our own expressed opinions.

As many of you noticed, yesterday we tried to change Newgrounds to comply with Chinese regulations and get unblocked in China. While we felt the end result did a decent job at filtering the site, the Chinese government ultimately decided that NG was still a platform for too many ideas. To continue being unblocked, we would have to have shut down blogs, as well as close the Flash and Audio Portals. While this was tempting, we decided it would be too drastic of a change, so we have decided to go back to the old NG and continue being blocked in China.

All these people were very right. I was almost ready to start blasting you too, if this China business was permanent. Okay, I'm not so mad at you anymore.

Further proof that this is an april fools joke (to all those people that still aparently dont get it) is that Newgrounds is in no way poor. Have you ever noticed how many competitions the site has giving out large cash prizes and good quality merchendice? Advertising generates an income of money, and pretty much every flash movie/game on newgrounds now has an advertisement for something or other before it starts, some even have them in the middle. Combined with the money that the store would make, im sure this would total to easily enough money to keep the site running.
