I think enough people in this thread have given you enough stick already, so I'll try to put this at least half decently.
YouTube, as far as I know, have been cracking down on these so-called AMVs for a long time, and by that, I mean a few years at least. Someone above me here backs this up, but I can't be bothered to find an article confirming this. That said, you should not really bother at all, or just put less effort and not use copyrighted material if you found the process so hard. Sure, it's only at the request of too-powerful companies, but you don't have a choice. Unless someone changes that, and I doubt that will happen, you're stuck on the AMV making front.
I shouldn't, but I feel more sorry for those that call themselves "fansubbers" of (mainly) Japanese TV shows. Especially in the case of multi-hour long specials, translating Japanese into English is no easy task, and actually adding subtitles can take time. Still, it's technically against the rules of YouTube due to copyrighted material. Sure it's a different website to what it was, but there's nothing you can do.
