Linky

Probably a bit too difficult for most of us here (myself included,) but I thought it might be neat to atleast submit something.

Now to learn C++..

hmmm... why the C++ knowledge? Couldn't you just create all the songs/sfx/other musical assets and then just let the programmers embed them within the game? Hmmm... seems weird to me. There can't be that many candidates that are fluent in both music creation and C++ shit

Sadly I'm sure that's a job that's out of most everyone's scope here. Ironically (depending on your perspective) it has very little to do with audio - more just integrating a sound engine like Wwise or FMOD with a video game and mixing music and sound that's already provided.

Oooh. And I'm in a C++ class now! :D

Though I doubt my homework code would impress them at all......

you very very rarely see "Composer" as a job. Since a composer job starts and ends with the music, there is no point in having a composer full time for a company, even if that company uses that composer for nearly every project (like Nobuo for the Final Fantasy series). Composers are nearly always hired on a contract basis. Given a budget, requirements, and off they go. After the contract ends so does the Composer's job.

For this reason I wouldn't search these game companies and wait for that composer opening. Your best bet is to always send them a Demo cd with what you're capable of, and if they like what you do, they'll keep your name on file and might draw you up a contract if they should need you for a project in the future.

At least this is what it looks like from my end, i've been on the market for a while now :c
