i strongly disagree heres several reasons why
When you say higher in the food chain, do you mean that someone bigger than me can eat me?

That's how SOCIETY works man.
the generally liked and renowned get a little more slack.
disagree. did someone lock your topic but not a similar one or something?

Wrong.
Just an observation.
Locking a topic has nothing to do with the deletion of posts, although some threads mods ignore because "the regulars" make them.

Somewhat true, but I also find the logic I use for reviews to work on the BBS
If it's a short post/review, but still positive and in regards to some sort of accomplishment i.e the flash, Tom got some pussy from April, w/e, a simple "nice" or "cool" or even "lulz awsum" is acceptable. If it's something negative like "lol, nub get a life" then it's usually deleted.

The problem with that is that there is no discussion other then nice job, which the OP response thanks, or you fucking suck asshole lern2____ in which a flame war commences between OP and the guy who provoked said flame war over whether or not the OP truly does suck and is an asshole.

LOL either I'm starting to get tired or you guys are talking in Pidgin. I swear I have to read your posts over slowly at least twice to understand them!
I get my posts deleted when they are stupid.
The sig that I'm wearin? Awesomely made by Skaren!

That happens no matter what in a thread. The only difference is is that the expectations change.

Maybe because those users know when it's appropriate to make posts like that. A lot of new users may not relise when they should and shouldn't make short posts.
also, as your post count gets higher you may not notice a few posts here and there being deleted. Especially if you aren't paying attention to your posts because you just plain don't notice the passage of the next 100 or 1000 posts, so when you lose 3 or 4 a day, it doesn't register.
It may also have to do with the ratio of quality posts compared to crappy posts. We don't camp out looking at your post history making sure you're doing good, we notice when we see you posting in a thread. If we see a bunch of threads with shit posts from you, we might just check out your history.
It also has to do with what kind of threads you post in. When you're starting out you may not know what is good or bad for a thread...so most times newer users may wind up posting in a lot more threads which may be deleted.
oh, and we have a list of people we treat better because we hate you all...
I wouldn't deny it.
It's like how (despite what mods may say) higher level users - The more known users - can get away with clear spam topics that if made by a 'noob' would be deleted within minutes.
One rule for the big guys and one rule for the little guys..

Malachy, I am not referring to who actually posts the one word posts, but the topic starter. Let's say Tom makes a thread about some shit he did. That's society for you. People have privileges for their ranks; But you're wrong by saying that Regulars are overlooked by mods.
There may be a general idea that regs are always good posters and newbs are the opposite, but it's not always true; Rule-breaking shouldn't be tolerated because of rank.
But that's also society, lulz.
I've only had one or two posts deleted because I'm not a dumbass.

This is true, and I honestly don't know why. I think its just because the regulars are all on the inside.
I rest my case
Your a scientist. Yes, you.

Straying offtrack, I've noticed that lately lots of posts of mine have been disappearing. I wasn't aware of any "wrong" posts I could have been making.
Maybe a mod just felt like going through everyone's post history.
I wouldn't quite agree that only the low quality threads, if they even live longer than a couple of hours, are the ones that get cleaned. I've seen good threads made by well known users that have had indecent posts deleted. Likewise, there have been crap posts in crap threads that have gone overseen.
But that's probably because it's much easier just deleting the whole thread.

so you're talking about threads?
It is expected that people are going to be excited if Tom posts on the BBS. He's slightly aloof and the creator of the site. And, since his threads grow at such a rate, it would in impractical to try and moderate out all of the +1 crappy posts of "cool" and "wow"...and for the most part, there aren't that many of them.
And about regulars or "known" users getting away with more. For the most part, a regular will heed a warning via PM from a mod and cut the shit out, or catch the drift if their thread is deleted the first time around. And we aren't completely against all threads which aren't strictly a well structured discussion. As the BBS rules state, if it is funny, interesting or new and cool, we're more than happy to deal with it. The reason so many new user's crappy threads get deleted is because it is probably some rehashed 4chan meme or is utterly retarded. We appreciate originality and humor.
Some people claim Altr is a spammer. But he's not being malicious with his threads. He's not trying to be an asshole and troll everyone, he is making threads for a laugh...and really, he puts more effort into his "spam" than most people put into any non "spam" thread they make. He is funny and he makes the BBS a better place with his threads.
Its sort of along the same lines of "mawds get away with spamming whaaah"...well, if you think about it, we have to delete so many utterly shitty threads and ban so many spammers in a day (in most cases we delete threads before anyone else has seen them)...and the community enjoys having some fun outside of the rather strict interpretation of the rules most people follow to be safe...so sometimes we may provide a supervised thread that is fun. We put effort into it and, funnily enough, put a lot of thought into our threads so that we can make sure it is fun or funny.
yey, I made a long post.

as I said earlier, nobody has the attention span to sit through and delete your crappiest posts. Chances are you just posted in a thread that was later deleted for whatever reason.

I camp and stalk about 50% of all regulars. Just so you all know lolSTAAALK ^_____^
Join the Newgrounds Battlefield 3 Platoon (for PC)! DON'T ASK WHAT YOUR GAME CAN DO FOR YOU, ASK WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR, UH, NEWGROUNDS! ON BATTLEFIELD 3. eh...
There is come validity to that, but I mean, you really can't just go making shitty post after shitty post and expect not to get it deleted and/ or get banned.
Sure, a regular will probably be giving a more lenient time, but I guess that is just how it works.

Yeah a few weeks ago via NG Log I noticed my post count for a certain day was minus 30 odd. Obviously I was a little taken back at first then I just tried to rack my brain about what thread was deleted where I posted often in. Still no idea. =(

yeah, I don't know what these tools are going on about, I make sure to keep a keen eye on all regulars and punish them more heavily than n00blets because they really ought to know better by now.
I guess we should crack down more heavily so that these numbtits don't think they can get away with shit anymore.

I checked. All posts of the last week are still there. I don't think there is any point in delving any deeper into it, maybe someone bumped an old topic where my posts weren't... so great...
That's the only thing I can think of.
