I know there was already a topic about the BBS going away, but I already posted these reasons there, and they got deleted, but I feel that people should probably know these.
You're a dipshit, Tom wasn't even remotely serious.
1. NO MORE STATS.
Without the BBS, what will be the POINT of stats? Posts? Not a chance. With chat, we might as well throw them out the window. Auras? Who gives a fuck if you can only see them on a user page? Levels? Same as auras, bet they used to MEAN something. If someone's level was high, it means they had been here for a while, and if it was low, you could look at their sign up date and judge.
The stats don't make the person dipshit, the quality of the post does. Luis is Level 2, and they made him a mod, you biased stereotypical fuck.
2. Loss of Statuses
Oh boy, here we go.
Are you a reg? Not anymore. Why would someone want to spend an hour in a chat room? Forums are just that much better, being able to make topics, and people will not have specific things to talk about. It will be like a 50 person MSN convo ALL THETIME.
I'm a regular, but I'm confident enough in myself that I won't have to fucking worry about people judging me again. For one thing I don't give a fuck, for a second thing I'm not a dipshit and if I talk I will know what I'm talking about. Posting in a forum doesn't make you a true regular, it makes you a poster, a true regular has gained respect by his postings, some well respected users don't even post.
You WILL lose track of your favorite people, due to lack of sigs and level/aura combinations. People will always be talking nonsense, and (like I said in point 2) there will be no topics to keep people all talking about 1 thing.
Who gives a shit either way, it's the internet, not real life. How about keeping track about what really matters and getting out of your mom's basement there buddy? Plus if that person was truly amazing, you'd remember them, you wouldn't forget someone if they really astounded you in some way.
But I understand some circumstances you may thing a person made one post and had potential to be someone well respected, but otherwise it just seems all "whatever" to me.
4. You Can't Look Back on Old Posts
lol, wut?
This is one of the big ones. There's always a few post that you love, and want to make references to. When NG Chat comes out, this will be GONE.
Oh big fucking deal, I bet the only reason there's a search is so people don't post the same bullshit twice. Otherwise I bet no one really gives a fuck less.
Is there advantages? Yes.
1. Being able to Talk Faster
Being able to express your opinion quickly is definitely something valuable, and sometimes 4-Post can override that. Being able to talk faster can eliminate that.
I honestly am okay with the posting system, if you can learn to get more across one post, it can better prepare you to get something across in a sentence, I think some regulars will be well prepared for the chat.
2. Drop-In Drop-Out Chatting
Being able to drop in and out is easy and convenient, and everyone knowing you're gone is a good thing, whereas in the forums it's a bit harder to tell.
No big deal, they'll find out one way or another.
Personally, I think the advantages FAR outweigh the advantages. If the General BBS is deleted, I'm gone.
Good, shows how much of a "regular" you are if you'll leave over one feature being gone.
Moderators, please don't lock this. It's just an open conversation, and I guess I just want people to express their feelings about it. I included advantages, so it's just a hate topic.
Yes, I want to see more anti-ranting besides my own. (If your post was really legit, you wouldn't have to ask it to be locked.)
Fun Fact: This took me 20 minutes to think of and write. Another reason to PLEASE not lock.
Fun fact, by the time I posted this it took 5 minutes, which in turn what I said is probably in my opinion twice as witty, and logical, and perceptive as what you posted. But all human sustain some type of error, we all make a mistake sometimes.
