But only some. Besides, there are lots of easy games that can give you tons of points in a very short time. The parodies series made by Munguia or the older games made by Selfdefiant. There are also collabs, in which you just get the medals for clicking on certain things.
And also practice makes you better.

I did some exploration and I found an important date: December 19, 2010. This is when Nijsse became the leader for the very first time.

I also got some bad news for everybody that would like to be the first to dethrone Nijsse: you can't do it.
Not that it is impossible. It is just because Nijsse already has been dethroned in the past. And it did not happen once.
I did some digging in this thread and discovered that the one that beat Nijsse back in 2011 was PulseLane. Soon after Nijsse dethroned him. Those were months of an epic fight between those two, the differences between them were just minimal: 100-300 points. sometimes even less. But from one point Nijsse started to gain more points almost every week while PulseLane couldn't keep the pace and here is when Nijsse's current consecutive reign began... At the end of one of the weeks it seemed like PulseLane will come back into play, but from that moment the gap was only almost constantly getting larger.

I also found another important date for the current shape of the list: May 20, 2012. This is when a guy known as Syrreal made his debut on the list on #111 with almost 55K points.

Hmm, that reminds me of the older times where achievements were sth. new and people very hyped about this feature and had enough time to really battle for a place in the rankings. We have to overcome the recession. Time to hunt again and dethrone PulseLane and Nijsse to claim the old worn-out throne.

Or, let's wait until enough medals are removed to finally call it dethroned by system.

It is a bit sad that the old posts on their profiles disappeared which explained a few more details about the backgrounds on their way to victory.

Thanks! Well, there is definitely one weekly achievement that we both will never get again: the top topper. At least there is a small chance for it, because there could not be anybody in the update that gained more than 1 spot.

About those days: it's a sad feeling that i wasn't here back then. This thread was sooo alive... constant discussions, taunts, people challenging each other and the sense that all competitors were really enjoying it all. The atmosphere.
Currently I see only few people from the top 50 that seem to be actually interested in making substantial progress and 2 of them can make some changes in the top 10 soon: NeonSpider and Optimos. Glamdrung is also a very skilled and persistent gamer, but his pace is just too slow. Of course there is also Fioresa a little bit lower on the list. But most of the users within top 50 are now just losing the old points.

Unlikely. Nijsse would have to lose tons of points for this to happen. And it would take years, if not decades.
There aren't even so many medals from removed games in the system anymore. This issue is not making that significant difference like in the days I raised it.

Well, few times I met a "harsher" version of you ;-) But I got a feeling that since you took over the list you became a little bit more calmed down. You even made some jokes few times.
Speaking of the older times in your context: I had tons of laughs reading Knuckstrike and Shantom's posts when you were approaching their positions: at first they were like "yipe! glup!", then Knuckstrike's courageous "You shall not pass!" and later Shantom's "lame excuse" of voluntarily giving you his spot XD And both of them making posts that were like: "I told you not to taunt this guy, because it always ends up badly!" XD

I know what you feel, I've checked out old pages in the medals and tips thread and there was an absolutely different ambient, everyone shared their experiences with medals and pages were filled with comments every day. It'd have been cool to be here those days...

I haven't thought about it, but from your perspective it could be done. I just thought about a dream scenario for me: Nijsse stops earning medals, you get close to him, then wait for the week with only +1 spot gainers... wait for one week... 2 weeks... a month... 3 months... half a year... over a year... and when finally the opportunity arises, I pass both of you becoming the top topper with +2! XD Seriously, I would need some time to close that well-over 100K gap between me and the 2 of you, which would be much smaller for sure if I were here back in 2011/2012.

And about you @Optimos: I will play a prophet now, I see a bright future before you and very high spots in the ranking. Why? You are much younger than probably all the people from the top 10 and already close to getting to top 10 with your current pace. And when people from the top 10 will start to retire...

But in all seriousness, fortunately (or unfortunately for me, haha) there is no age limit for this, since everyone can play medal games if they got enough time and feel like it. So it's not that important that I'm younger. But it's true that there are less and less active users each time, even in the top 10...

I don't recall that any user has been banned for hacking or cheating in medal games. Users like f.....hole, DJdarkdash, Alexil, etc have been excluded for cheating, but none of them have been banned from the site. And they don't get their medals removed either. Unless there's any example of an user getting all their medals removed. Which I ignore.

his/her name was "Diablomo, he hacked pgf game (alkie kong 2) to get the hardest medal drunken deity (it's actually not that hard... after a couple days of practice, at least. There are much harder medals in the site) and was caught editing data.

Maybe it has something to do with the moderation of medals? It was before my time. At least Alkie Kong 2 was PSG's own game, so he definitely was able to knew if sth. is unlikely.
