If I am here during the summer I will buy alcohol for underage people if they so desire.

IDK if I can go mostly because of the date not being set. It would be cool to go to one of those, but if it's during the Anime convention you can count me out because I don't really like that sort of thing.

yeah now you can get mugged and shot while your at school! yeah Chicago is probably a little safer than it was. It's not like you'll get shot here if you're white and on the south side, you just can't look at people funny. Take it from me, lived here the past 18 years.

Seriously though, Chicago is a huge city, you don't have to go to the south or west side. Just stay in lincoln park and downtown and chicago is the best meetup city i can think of.

Bumping for necessity for this to happen.

Most of us are/will be soon on summer break, so we should really get this rolling as dates become more widely available.

Here's just a few ideas of what we can do:

Baseball game (cubs or sox)
Good ol Navy Pier
Dick around at water tower place
Taste of Chicago
Millenium Park
Jerry Springer (We would have to work on this ASAP, for we need to purchase tickets in advance, and its 18+)
Some kind of music festival (Lollapalooza, Bluesfest, etc.)

That's just a couple things we could do, some dependent on dates and such, but ideas nonetheless.

Looks like on my trip, i'll be staying close to this place, University of Chicago.

Hmmm, I hope I can at least take a peek on what you're all up to on there.

If we get enough interested people and a definite date, then chances are decently good that I'd be there. I'm not as familiar with Chicago as I should be seeing as I've lived near it my entire life, but since I live so close by, I have little excuse to not go.

Not a bad idea. It'd be much cooler to go to one of the games in the Cubs vs. Sox series but tickets for that are very expensive. I've been to games at both stadiums and they're both great places to go, though I prefer the Sox ;)

It is the definition of 'reliable.' It's a cool place to hang out for a few hours but I don't think you could make an entire day out of it.

Never been there. I'll take your word for it that there's something to do there.

It would definitely give us a decent idea of when the meetup would take place. Not much represents the city as well as The Taste, so I think a meetup during that time should definitely be considered.

Millenium Park

I like the idea. It's near a few interesting places too and it would just be a general hangout spot. Again, it's something I picture as a place to go for a few hours rather than the entire day.

It kind of excludes those who are under 18 and I thought they moved the show to Connecticut.

I think it could work for a smaller group, but a large group in the chaos would easily get separated. Still, it'd be an all day thing and a nice backdrop for a meet.
