naw, he keeps em all. ey louise, do you really assemble them together into a sketchbook again in real life or just scan them in and keep em piled somewhere? it'd be really cool to have a tangible book saved from every year...in like...the Newgrounds Office.... museum...

i thought he puts them into P-Bot and all the artisitic passion is drawn out of them and made into a magical drink that improves your own artwork... then he drinks it and becomes better at art... with each year his artistic tallents improve and improve... its the only logical explantion!... we were all tricked!!!

Ironically (or non-ironically), there is only one sketchbook that literally exists as a sketchbook. The very first one. Eventually it grew so large that it couldnt fit into one book, and to have two books would be kind of lame. Also, having pages with threads became kinda annoying.

So every year its different and keeps things fresh. The name stuck and its still called a sketchbook tour even tho its not much of a sketchbook anymore.

well, you could put them in those laminated slip sheets with the holes and put it on those MASSIVE three ring binders used for like.... state law. it wouldn't be a sketchbook, but it'd be a book still.

yeah mine sent out on the 30th but i dont know if it will make it because i stupidly taped the stamps on for extra security, only to find out 2 days later that if you tape stamps on they dont always send the letter because they worry you might be stealing them.

I thought it'd be cool to get something marking we were in the NG sketchbook tour. I see there is a shirt availiable- but any old schmo could buy one and claim he was in it. true, we can't get a free one each (too expensive) but I reckon something of a discount for participants would be a good idea.

The reward for being in the sketchbook tour is BEING in the sketchbook tour. You get a flash made with your piece in it and there you go. No need for another reward for each participant. If there was an award for the best piece that might make more sense, but giving a prize out to each of the 200 participants would be pretty damn costly.

indeed, and this shouldn't really become a competition, its fun doing something collaborative without having any other real motives. and i dunno if anyone buys the sketchbook shirt without being a part of or knowing the sketchbook participants anyway. the small fame in this isn't lost by releasing the shirt to everyone.

it does kinda suck that the 'o8 crew will be the only ones to have a dated tee for them though, although i understand the hassle in printing a new t-shirt every time for something with a limited year only appeal. still........ pffffft....

Discount if you were part of the tour (any of the years) for the shirts would be a great idea. Im sure Bob wont be happy about having to make the store accomidate discounts for particular users. I'll ask tom about it anyway. I think it makes sense.

Speaking of bob. He sent me a msg on aim this morning that was relevant to this tour:

With over 200 people contributing to the piece, i cant coauthor everyone.

I usually reserve co-authoring for people who helped out in the project, such as the programmer, and other people who helped put it together.

Yeah its kinda unfair i suppose. But its not feasable to coauthor 200+ people. Its just a community project. And your piece will have numerous links back to your userpage and stuff so its not like you are totally shutout of it.

Maybe next year. My arts is reserved for those who are truly worthy/ready for it. For looking at my art is to look in the mind of a ADD/Manic Depression ridden human being.

from what iv heard / seen about people pieces... this is going to be one interesting collab of artists... one hand you will have alot of highly detailed work which is fantastic... and in the other a ton of poorly drawn scribbles (not mine :P)
