With a gun, you are much more likely to kill your family or yourself, and the police keep you fucking safe. If they wern't here to enforce the law, you would be murdered in your sleep, your house burgled, and your wife/sister/mother raped. Do you really want to take the chance?

First of all, it states in the article that one of the people attempted to harm the officers. At that point, officers re justified in using force.

2nd, tasers don't usually kill people, so the police were right to use the taser. Would you have rather had them pull out their guns? Of course not, they opted tasers because they obviously did not want a fatal incident.

3rd, it's hard to taser someone to death, even if you're trying to. The cop would have to taser them in the fucking eyes or something to cause that kind of injury, and it's also entirely possible that the taser malfunctioned or the person who died had a pre-existing medical condition that amplified the harm that the taser would normally cause, resulting in unexpected death.

Do I think that the kid should have died? Of course not. However, I do not believe that the police meant to kill him, and I do think that their actions were justified under the circumstances, and the result was impossible to foresee, or at least highly unlikely.

He was probably gay anyway.

Are you kidding me? I'd love to taser some punk kid, whether I was a cop or not. Besides, the long term of a taser are less than those of a potential fist/baton beating from trained policemen. Also, 15 year olds fight dirty. Who's to say they won't go for the balls if you're a cop? Whatever the situation, if a 15 year old threatens to attack a cop or actually attempts to do so, they DESERVE a fucking beatdown, the little bitch. A little physical discipline will do them good and knock them down a few pegs. There are dozens of kids from my high school that I would literally pay money to see getting beat down by cops.

Honestly, I prefer tasers to guns when used by police. At least tasers aren't nearly as deadly.
