I fucking love my New York accent. It only really shows itself when I'm pissed off, I think it adds a bit of intimidation.
Maybe later.....
English Accents are awesome, they make whoever speaks with one sound very sophisticated and smart

How to Speak in a British Accent
There are hundreds of different accents within Britain, so categorizing it as a 'British' accent is rather incorrect; wherever you go you will find an unbelievable variety of different pronunciations. The following directions describe 'Queen's English', rarely ever used in modern day Britain, but the foreigners stereotypical view of how the British talk.
So true, americans always think that all we british talk like the queen but that's just not true :c
Only the london based top 1% of aristocratic society genuinely talk that posh, there are so many other accents and dialects that british people speak. Dont generalise people.
I speak in the stereotypical "posh" British accent, and I have to say it RULES because everybody takes you seriously.
Really though, I'm the only person I know who talks that way.
im english, amazingly i only realised i was posh about a year ago, i do not eat crumpets or drink tea, any american that automatically assumes every english person DOES, sickens me

You can't really steal words. All languages were developed from another one at some point. English I believe comes from an old Germanic language. I may just have made that up though...
No, it doesn't. English uses the Latin alphabet and uses some words but it's derived from the West Germanic languages, with include German, Dutch and Afrikaans. The Latin language diverged to form the Romance languages, which include French, Italian, Romanian, Portuguese and Spanish.
I'm english and yes i love my accent but im from the part of the country which is very agricultural so i sound like a farmer, abit.

We do not say "Governer" only chavs say mate, neither do we say "tea and crumpets", and finaly, why can't you speak normal english, as you did STEAL our language.
Excuse me gents, there are still some British people on the forums ya'know?
Also, you do realise it was our language first, right?
You guys just added emphasis on every letter.

Soz for doble post if this is one but, WTF? It's your language, sorry i must have missed that period in history when america colonalised britain. O right thats right your only about 600 years old. Not your language ours, now i have no problem with america, i love it great country, Just Him^
I think some English accents sound cool, while others sound dorky. I think it really depends on the region of the accent. I don't know enough about England to identify which accent is from which region, though.

What's so bad about their accents? They have like the best accent ever!
I have a penis
I hate tea.
Crumpets are good but they get boring after a while.
I brush my teeth twice a day.
I don't say "mate" I say "dude", only chavs say mate, e.g "come in get shank up mate, hype get me blud long time safe".
I don't actually know anybody that talks like the typical posh stereotype.
I'm not obese.
I hate cricket and football.
Lol dongs.
Nah, not a huge fan of the accent. I remember in August we were doing a "get to know each other" thing in English class, and the accent almost everyone said they wished they had was a British accent. I was the only one who said that I liked my accent, and it's true. I wouldn't trade it for any other.

Partially.
Look at English in comparison to properly latin bsed languages such as French and Italian.
Theres a huge difference. A lot of the English lanuage is based on Germanic languages used by the Saxons. It's why English is such a good lanugage to swear in, lots of short sharp sounding words ( Sames goes for German and russian) which yiu don;t get in properly latin based languages.
English isn't solely derived from latin but from like evey language in Europe. There's Saxon, French, German, Latin, Viking words, and thats not even counting the words that we got from having an empire form places like India.
I've got a really good English accent. And I know all the mannerisms too. It's uncanny.
By the way, London/England = NOT every irritating Hugh Grant posh fool film you've seen. Contrary to reports from Bridget Jones, London is not a cosy gingerbread city.
Rennee Zellwegger's accent irritates me so much. They should have given that role to me, and Hugh Grant's too while they're at it. They can throw him onto the street, see how 'lovably flawed' he is then.
Give my thoughts form and make them look insightful.

Actually no.
The way Americans and Brits speak is not only differed by pronunciations also the choice of wording differs and occasionally even definitions and measurements are not the same.
