Okay, I'm not helping. Here's why:

1. You haven't shown your character designs to prove your worth.

2. You don't know what a programmer is.

3. You think space compressors are people who make games smaller and make them run faster. This is incorrect. A programmer optimizes his code to run faster and therefore be smaller filesize in the process.

The true space compressor would be something like WinRAR or WinZip or 7Zip and so on.
Now, if you want to get into the sci-fi debate, there's a theory that you could compress space in front of a spaceship and decompress the space behind the spaceship to get to different locations without having to move the spaceship.

As for me, I'm *not* a space compressor; I'm a programmer. (I'm an artist/animator, too, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.) I can optimize code to be shorter and therefore lower the resulting filesize of the game, but that's not compression; it's optimization.

Whatever, you just don't have to be a bitch about it!

You people shouldn't be giving him such a hard time. Firstly, why the hell would he need to learn AS? He said he's not a programmer, he's a designer. And him not having any movies doesn't mean SHIT.

If you made those sprites, than the game has potential. And by MADE I mean, you actually drawing every single frame of that, not putting created sprites together.

He didn't make the sprites. They're ripped from Jump Superstars (or Jump Ultimate Stars) and have just been animated .. with the positions that are already available.

Anyway, the main problem here is that you, monsieur "Red Dragon", know absoloutely bugger-all about flash. How to code, how to draw, anything. TL;DR, it just seems that you're going to take credit for other people's work.

He's right, that's what i was trying to say about making the sprites, finding them and animating them. But i will give the people who ripped them and created them credit. I have there names.

This project will fail. So far, there have been literally HUNDREDS of Smash tribute games started and only Super Smash Flash has ever been finished. That's not to say there aren't some that will be finished, but it's only about 1% of the games started that actually show signs of finishing, and it's those projects that are started by a small group (not just one guy) who knows what he's doing (which you obviously don't) and have made some SERIOUS preparation beforehand (which you haven't).

What you HAVE done is said: "I want to make a SSB tribute, I want these characters in so I'm going to make one". What you HAVEN'T done is thought about WHAT you will make, HOW you will make it, or WHY the fuck anyone will care.

My God you people don't have no confidence of my project do you?

They are asking you for an alpha or engine or something to show that this project will end on something good. But all you were trying to show is those damn ripped animated sprites..

There's a perfectly good reason he can't post anything besides sprites. He found the sprites and put them together (maybe), that's enough to make a game right? He just doesn't have the people to make the game for him yet, that's why he cant post an engine.

But really, you know what? Opinions are like assholes, everybody has one, so instead of 200 people posting here about how this project will fail (and they're all right as far as I can tell), why don't we all just wait it out and see how this progresses? I want to know as much as anybody how far he will get with this, but we shouldn't be nagging him so much about it I think at least.

Anyways, good luck with this project, you should really get some bigger incentive for a least a half-decent programmer to help you out.

Thanks Woadraiders, appreciate it. I have some people who are helping me on this project but i have no idea when its gonna be finished? Its gonna be a good while i think, because of school and shit.

If you want help on this project, you're going to have to be specific about your skills and the skills you lack so we can understand what specific types of people you would need to help complete your game. There is no need for a space compresser because it is a simple task that can be done through optimizing code and through changing export settings. It's a basic part of flash, that should probably be understood if you're trying to tackle something this ambitious.

Anyway, I'm rambling. I'm not trying to be mean. I just don't really think it's fair to animate sprites why everyone else codes. Do you have any other sorts of skills? Cause that would definitely help you. If you have good ideas, that's great. I'm talking level design, stuff like that. Even so, it's a lot to ask of people to fill in the gaps that you can't. Consider starting smaller and working your way up. Really, as great as this may seem, it's probably unlikely it's going to go far, so I think it's a good consideration.

Okey, so far this is what is working on.

Me: I'm working on some sprites/animating them, looking for some music, making/finding sound effects, finding pictures of Levels so i can draw them.

The other guys that are helping me: An artist team that i found is working on the rest of the sprites so i can animate them, The other guy is going to program the game when we get all the stuff finished.

Thats what is happing so far.

If you want to start a collab, your going to need to come up with some material yourself before you organize one. The "idea guy" also knows a bit about programming and the arts in video games (rather he writes code/draws or not). Overall, someone who makes games knows how a game works (tell me the mechanics of this "Super Smash Bros Ultimate").

Your going to need to actualy make a game yourself (rather by yourself or with friends) before you start asking around for a collab. Start with PONG and work your way up from there.

One more thing, COME UP WITH ORIGINAL IDEAS! I have nothing agianst dererative works(like a small parody, or fan art), but seriously, come up with your own things! The people at Epic Games, or Bungie Studios, or whatever your favorite developers might be did say "Hey, lets use nothing but other people's ideas and characters and sell it as our own game!" Dosent work like that.

Please dont tell me you just created an account on Newgrounds just to make others make your dreams a reality. As far as I know, you have only been here a month (as of April 5, 2009) and have done nothing to prove yourself collab worthy. All I believe right now is this"MRedDragonO1" entity is just a placeholder account which exists for its owner to ask stupid questions while he/she enjoys his/hers hidden identities. Newgrounds really needs to track the ip:// addresses when it comes to account creation.

MRedDragonO1, I think it would be in your best interest to leave this website and come back when you can prove that this can succeed. To be honest, your sprites are not that good so you will need a lot more than that to convince people to help you. Program some sort of demo program just to show you have put a lot of effort in and that you are dedicated.

Now if you do enjoy getting flamed, just keep posting.
