The Racism in Resident Evil 5.

I've been quiet about it for a while and I don't think I can stand it anymore.

Resident Evil 5 is a racist game and I don't care what anyone says.

The people out there screaming, "It's not racist at all, you just don't get the plot!" are stupid. They assume that african-americans (or for that matter Africans in general) are getting overly sensitive because long standing racial tensions. No, the big problem is with Japan being a huge xenophobic nation who doesn't really get the sensitive nature of racism around the world.

My first case is the case of Chris Redfield, yeah, I know he's a seasoned character, but you've got an overly white character killing a lot of black people. It's a hidden message that black africans are a violent lot of people and use a virus as an excuse to claim violence. So all I really see is gun shot after gun shot hitting black people as they fall and a white man gunning them down.

Then, as if to mock black people, they go ahead and stick in a african girl. Sure, they make her black...kinda. They have to make it appealing to white fans so they make her about as white as they can without making it "unbelievable". You and I definatly can't deny that and it was a very stupid move by Capcom.

Then...the worse part. There is a scene in a game that one of my friends sent me. There is a white woman standing over a balcony screaming for help. All of a sudden she is dragged away by a black man and "INFECTED" her which leads me to my last point.

This is obviously an allegory for AIDS. AIDS is very prominient in that region of the world and the game makers wanted to have some sort of allegory for a white man to exterminate the AIDS problem. With, of course, massive amounts of gunfire.

So I've decided to boycott Resident Evil 5 and I feel that my Playstation 3 and homestead will be better for it. I'm sure its a very well made game, but at the same time I think the game makers weren't thinking about race as a sensitive subject in this country (for the matter the world).

As for everyone else, I hope you can look at this game and stand up against its insensitive nature.

RE4 were all Mexicans, and Leon killed them over and over, So is RE4 racist.
So in Africa, all "blacks" originate there, so, i'm guessing that there will be black people there.
In RE4, they made the Spaniards poor and run-down in that region, is that racist? No, because they are depicting current lifestyles to put in the game for "realness" in the game to make it scary.

How is it racist? Leon Kennedy shot a shit load of spaniards and no one gave a fuck but when black people step in, "Oh no, hate crime!"
