because movies are just made for fun. anything that's in one shouldn't be taken seriously. pot is illegal because people rob and kill just for a bit of it, until they get killed by it. it's just to protect us, i think.

My dad listens to Howard Stern and some other Sirius radio shows and apparently a lot of them get high and go on the air, talking about how they are high on the air.

That is something I never really understood.

i actually consider amsterdam a neutral place on that matter, since there your freedom is so high at the point that you can make sex at night in national parks. IN PUBLIC. i'm definetly going there when i get older.

Your argument is we can see pot smoking in movies so why can't we do it in the real world, this example shows the flaws in your argument.

Just because we see it in a film it doesn't justify it in the real world.

unless you give specific examples of how violence is seen as a good thing in movies.

And pot smoking is seen a good thing in movies? If I'm not mistaken the majority of movies see pot smokers as teenager lay-around's that accomplish nothing.

Although yes, it is illegal to smoke pot, and murder, and rape, the movies are made for the viewing audience, who likes to watch people smoking pot, murdering, and raping.
For the case of the pot movies, however, they're usually made for the sake of the stoner. People are going to smoke pot anyways, even if it is illegal. So why not make a movie that pleases that kind of audience?

I don't know if this is true or not, but apparently there is a form of legal pot that has had the THC removed. Also, pot isn't that big of a crime so long as you're not trying to sell it and don't have a shitload on you. In a few states it has been decriminalized, meaning that so long as you don't make it obvious you have it or try to sell it you're fine, and if you do get caught with it you'll get a slap on the wrist and get it confiscated.
