DL the GH:Metallica demo, it's out now.
Why a new hope? Pretty much all of the UI problems in GH:World Tour have been fixed: You no longer have to select that you're playing drums when on the drum kit. The rock meter is split up. etc.
Highly recommended.

Watch out, if Metallica find out about this... they'll sue you.

We already knew this before the demo, it was announced that all the UI problems had been fixed on Metallica's website 2 months ago with all the screenshots.
I'll get the demo, but from the announcement ages ago I already decided that I want the game.

Do they still make you use the analog stick to navigate through menus when you're playing the drums, because that was easily one of the most annoying things in Guitar Hero: World Tour. Also, did they make the song select menu more organized?
Either way, I'll still rent this game. I'm more than likely not going to buy it since I'm not a Metallica fan.

I must have been playing too much Rock Band as of late. The angle of the fret board and the shape of the note seem all trippy to me.
Stone Cold Crazy is an awesome song, the other three are a little repetitive and Search and Destroy runs a little long for what it is. I would have like to have something like Master of Puppets in the demo.

Not to mention that the fret board is smaller than the one in Rock Band, which is annoying for me since I have a somewhat small TV. Oh well, maybe one day I'll invest in a nice LCD TV.
I would have like to have something like Master of Puppets in the demo.
It's probably better if they left it out of the demo, otherwise the final product wouldn't be as exciting.

I don't have Live (pity me), so I can't get the demo.
I do have plans to pre-order the game this coming weekend, though.

Also looks like they've copied Rock Band's camera effects aswell as other things now.
Not saying this is a bad thing, bad usually GH games are crystal clear when playing songs, but not Metallica, got that fuzzy thing going on like Rock Band has to give it a "live recording" feel. I LOVE the shake effect it does in Sad But True though, Rock Band needs that. You'll see it if you watch the video although it's easier to see in actual game.

The end of the song has the St. Anger fist. They should have used that as an animation if you failed the song.

lmao.
well they've gotta use something from St. Anger in the game and seeing as though they've only put one song from that album in the game (Frantic) they've gotta use more stuff so.. I guess seeing that stupid fist at the end of every song is better than having more St. Anger songs in the game.

Thats true. Also for those who haven't followed Metallica all that well, that fist at the end is from their album St. Anger. Basically one of the shoddiest pieces of album that Metallica released in their career, though some might argue that Load or Reload were a lot worse.
Hence St. Anger being a fail-album, the fist should be used to tell you 'You failed!'.

Hm! The demo came out? Awesome, I'll check it out.
And, honestly, Metallica is pretty much a perfect band to make a game for; huge fanbase, challenging songs for all instruments, etc. I'm actually looking forward to this.

A little too challenging on RB drums, they havn't bothered to re-chart the fucking pedal and you're stuck with insane double bass on ONE PEDAL.

I've just realized they've only done that on the demo, didn't see they hadn't added the new difficulty yet involving double pedal so on the demo Expert still is the double pedal.
When the game comes out something called Expert+ will have double pedal and Expert will have single pedal.

Speaking od the double bass pedal, does anyone know if it will work with Guitar Hero: World Tour and Rock Band 2? There are a few songs that are pretty hard to play with one pedal, so the second pedal will be extremely helpful.

When I was doing the Metallica songs, I was thinking the drummer looked like someone else. I then concluded this:
This too will pass.

Anyone else notice the similarities between GH:Metallica and then released Rock Band 2?
Really, that indicator that says how many stars you will get, I wonder who did that first?

I wonder who did everything in that game first.
I'm in Philly, so I can't play it, but I added it to my DL List through the online marketplace for when I get home on Sunday.

I wonder who originally developed Guitar Hero before being bought by MTV.
