I saw a question similar to this one on the programming thread. I just want to know how everyone started off with their flash career so i can get good ideas of what i should be tsarting out with.

i started off in an ICT 9 class almost a year ago. when they taught us about flash i ignored everything else and continued in flash.

after about two-three months of being deprived from flash, i got it again, and started experimenting with some theories i developed while watching flash on Newgrounds. after about 3 months of experimenting, i was ten times better then i was when i started out.

after practicing some more and developing my own style of characters, i evolved from where i was with my christmas flashes to where i am now.

I started flash soon after i downloaded Pivot (stick animating program). After downloading flash i quickly learned some action script 2 and began creating mediocre games. I get better and better everyday at animating and programming. :D

mmm.

After seeing all the cool stuff here on newgrounds submitted by average people like me, I decided to learn actionscript, so I picked up the mx trial, then bought flash 8 from a friend (who also makes flash) and I've been making stuff for this site for a while.

Saw some junk on Newgrounds, figured I may as well put some of my own terrible junk on here as well. The rest is history.

I watched SMBZ and NASF, and was immediately hooked on sprite animation. I was also addicted to stick animation, and Terkoiz's animations were king in that department.

About 3 years ago I was first getting into web-design and i had a for dummies book of web-design. It contained lots of trials of different programs one of them being flash.
When I found it could make games I quickly started using it often because i'd always loved web games.
I then messed around with it, experimented blah blah and I got somehow to where I am today.

That's disgraceful.

I watched newgrounds stuff for a while then asked LegendaryFrog what program he used - this was before I touched the forums at all. He told me he used Flash Mx and I googled it...I might have been silly and you'd yahoo at the time though.

i was a young kid (really young, about 9 or 10 yo) and a friend of mine found flash 5 on my computer and said: " hey, let's play with it!" after some poor animations he sorta stopped discovering it but i carried on.. now i'm 17 and still working with it and i have learned everything by myself by trying and trying.
i can script and animate, i think i can be proud of myself :3

haven't uploaded my newest (best! :D) stuff here and i don't think that i'll be active on NG any longer..

BLAM DAMN SPAM. That rhymes! So what do we learn?
