I was looking at a TV Guide magazine the other day in my Geometry class, and I found this tiny picture about 'Watchmen' and watching 'early morning cartoons on newgrounds.com'

I just paused for a minute and thought to myself "Whoa, I go on that website. And now here it is, in front of my face. And I'm reading about it."

I felt a little odd to be honest. I live in a village, and I only know of one person around here who knows about this website (he doesn't have an account, he only washes flash).

But really, you don't (at least I don't) normally hear\see people talking about newgrounds in real life situations. Sure, maybe at meet ups and comic conversations, but in your everyday life (my everyday life) I don't think so.

Teenagers tend to be more comfortable discussing myspace\facebook, not newgrounds. Unless of course you've got a group of newgrounders around each other and they're shitting it up about flash and users they hate\love.

Really, it just came as a surprise to me. I'm looking through a magazine not even thinking about this website, and then bam; an article about this website.

Talk about a surprise.

Anyone else ever read any of these articles, and felt a little out of place for knowing what the magazine was talking about?

I was seriously looking around the room, eyeing to see if anyone was going to ask me if I knew what newgrounds was. (Not that it's anything to be ashamed of, I would have 'fessed up to it) But still, talk about something weird happening.

Harrys has that thing on the radio, everywhere on the internet and A BLOODY TV GUIDE!? If it's actually on the telly soon, I'll explode. Strange how the guide recognised it's from NG, not his youtube one.

Just today I discovered that authour of the controversial Fear Unlimited I:2 game lives within 5 miles of me.

It's not exactly the same thing, but it was still a reality blast.

I wonder if anyone could find anything about it online? I was only reading the magazine because my friend had it sitting out of her purse, and I needed a way to pass the time.

The only time anyone ever talked about Newgrounds to me in my real life was when people were talking about the VT Massacre game on this 'Newgrounds' site, I had told a few people I go here and got pinned as that asshole who likes the VT Massacre game.

I decided then I shouldn't try and mix Newgrounds with anything not inside my little monitor.

I had only to wish that there be a large crowd of spectators the day of my execution and that they would greet me with cries of hate.

People here think of newgrounds like a website with little games on it, so I don't tell a whole lot of people I lurk on it. I have two NG t-shirts, and only 3 people recognized the logo on the NG explosion shirt.

I want the angry faic shirt. I'll buy it eventually. I just wonder what kinds of questions people will ask about it.

Wait, back the fuck up. Positive press? About Newgrounds? Alright!

Also that flash was positively hilarious. Even though I know nothing about Watchmen, reading the comments put it in perspective, making it even funnier.

Newgrounds is to open and diverse and has many of those who would be hated in myspace etc. this place is to risky to be classed as a teenager place. users who hate everything, flash about killing people who say NG is bad, just a look in the forum on any day. To much about this place is fucking amazing but would be hell to all the pussy teenagers and attention whores on myspace and the other shit sites.

I was very comfortable talking about newgrounds in school. It doesn't bother me at all, and from what I've heard, they rather have me like newgrounds than 4chan.

yeah it's pretty cool. Even when you're at the mall, and you see people wearing an NG shirt, which has happened to me before. I felt like walking up to him and giving him a high five... just because. I don't even know who it is, but still..

My favorite singer/actor is Miley Cyrus. What are you going to do about it?

Nobody at my school has ever heard of newgrounds, nor do they know about half the decent animations + games on here.

Bit of a shame really, seeing as you can learn a little from this place, such as how a game is made, and how hard making games is, or coding websites.

I remember that once I was at school using a computer, and this dude (that I didn't know) next to me was on newgrounds. Things like that are kinda weird.

even weirder if newgrounds was on the news here in Brazil.

I called him a fag about three dozen times and accused him of being a 09'er
