I was looking at a TV Guide magazine the other day in my Geometry class, and I found this tiny picture about 'Watchmen' and watching 'early morning cartoons on newgrounds.com'
I just paused for a minute and thought to myself "Whoa, I go on that website. And now here it is, in front of my face. And I'm reading about it."
I felt a little odd to be honest. I live in a village, and I only know of one person around here who knows about this website (he doesn't have an account, he only washes flash).
But really, you don't (at least I don't) normally hear\see people talking about newgrounds in real life situations. Sure, maybe at meet ups and comic conversations, but in your everyday life (my everyday life) I don't think so.
Teenagers tend to be more comfortable discussing myspace\facebook, not newgrounds. Unless of course you've got a group of newgrounders around each other and they're shitting it up about flash and users they hate\love.
Really, it just came as a surprise to me. I'm looking through a magazine not even thinking about this website, and then bam; an article about this website.
Talk about a surprise.
Anyone else ever read any of these articles, and felt a little out of place for knowing what the magazine was talking about?
I was seriously looking around the room, eyeing to see if anyone was going to ask me if I knew what newgrounds was. (Not that it's anything to be ashamed of, I would have 'fessed up to it) But still, talk about something weird happening.
