I don't know. Maybe it's the fact that I'm half Jamaican, but I've realized that reggae is my favorite type of music. I could listen to "No Woman, No Cry" all day long and not get tired of it.
My father is the same way: the man literally jumped up and down in his seat when Will Smith talked about Bob Marley during I Am Legend.
So please don't tell me I'm the only reggae fan on this website. Anyone else here want to share in the reggae love?

I see why people like it, but I'm personally not a fan of it.
So far, the only reggae artist I like is Eek-a-mouse... and only because he speaks in gibberish that I found humours when stoned.

This is also why I dislike Reggae... it's as if the whole style of music only revolves around one artist. Nobody ever says... "Reggae is awesome, Buju is the best!"
It's always Bob Marley or nothing.... I never go over to a stoners house and hear a diffrent regge artist. It's always the double disk Marley collection.
No disrespect to Bob or anything... but still, why do people claim to love Reggae when they really only love Bob and could really care less about everybody else?
I walk around town, and it's always Marley shirts... where are the other reggae based clothes?
Just an observation... that's all.

I like other reggae artists, but I see what you mean. I only used Marley's picture here because he's the most recognizable.
But on the topic of other reggae artists, few people realize that some modern chart-topping songs are reggae or have a heavy reggae influence. Case in point: I'm Yours by Jason Mraz

I totally agree.
There's a lot of great reggae out there, but to the average person the entire genre is summed up by Bob Marley. And, in fact, not even the entirety of Bob's ouvre, just the poppier sounding stuff like No Woman No Cry.
If you like Reggae, I urge you to check out some lesser known stuff; The Congos, Burning Spear, Lee "Scratch" Perry... There's a ton of great reggae and dub artists out there.

Well you're somehow correct. Mybe cause Bob Marley represents Reggae and is a legend of it?
Never bothered to listen to other Reggae artists, but now you got me thinking, and I might just do that.

Not into Reggae myself. There's one track by Bob Marley called "Burning and looting" I think, at the start of the film La Haine, which is ok. But other than that, I'm not into it.
