If you want performance and a good price, don't go for Apple.
My signature was old so I changed it.

Fixed. You can still get optimal performance with an Apple, but you'll have to pay out the ass for one...

I'm getting a dell mini. It's got 1 gb ram, but upgradable to 2 gigs for 20 bucks and a 16 gb harddrive. Which is really all you need.
The most impressive part is it's size. 9 inches, two pounds. Super portable and stable. Three hundred dollars. The ultimate net book for a crazy low price- huzzah!

I'm after a gaming laptop that has a good screen, none of those shitty miniature screens. The laptop I'm using ATM is like 1280X800 and its 2 and a half years old. Time for an upgrade.

So you want performance for what? If you don't plan on playing games, the price will drop a lot. Graphics card are expensive.

If you absolutely must get a laptop, just get one made by HP.
They're the only half assed reliable ones for laptops last I recall. But that was a few years ago, might have changed.
Also, fuck Apple.

Actually, the technical term for that type of computer is 'NoteBook', there are ways to tell. LopTOps are obsolete.

Sort of naffs up the idea of it being mini if you have to buy extras to carry around with it, though.

Netbooks are made for internet browsing anyway. So you don't put your humongous yiff collection on it.

What the fuck is the point of having a portable computer if I can't watch porn in public? That's fucking stupid.

Well you can watch online porn. Like meatspin. Sounds good enough to me.

Sorry, but I just can't take you seriously if you're looking at Apple products for a good price to performance ratio.

How can we effectively help you when you don't give us a budget or tell us what you're going to do with it?
I'm also in the market for a laptop. I was thinking of this one. I'd probably take its processor out and replace it with a mobile quad core though. It doesn't help that it keeps selling out.

Shit... That's some hardcore rig you got there! That's considering the mobile HD4870 is as good as the Desktop counterpart... I got the 3870 in my desktop PC.

It's not just a mobile HD4870, but a HD4870x2. From what I understand, it's basically two of those GPUs downclocked by around 33%. That's only what I read, I didn't check the specs myself. Still, that laptop probably hauls more ass than most peoples' desktops.
