You're not allowed to carry knives about in Britain and there is no reason to take a can of petrol to school - showing off on the internet would not entail bringing in petrol.

His dumb little mind wanted e-fame, but this is going to cling to him like a bad smell and ruin the rest of his life. I support his attainment of Newgrounds-centric e-fame, because he wont become some noble cause celebre for nihilist dickheads but he will find it impossible to get a job or move on from this incident.

That is, if he doesn't end up dying behind bars. To be honest, he wrote that he wanted to destroy his school, he took petrol and weapons there - I would have no problem with him getting life in jail, 16 years old or not. Even the death penalty wouldn't phase me. He's a danger to society. What about if he considers himself to be getting bullied at work? What if he loses his job and his wife leaves him? He's already considered a killing spree as the solution to one problem; why wouldn't this happen again?

Also, he was arrested at 11:30 GMT, the same time he said he'd do it. So we've no evidence that he wouldn't have done it and plenty that he would (weapons, confession)

The internet should respond to rl threats and I will make sure I do as much as I can whenever I encounter one.

I have to agree in general but also say that for some reason i actually get a bit pissed off at these kind of people. Not for the fact they are threataning to do X or Y but because they are just a bunch of dumb MF's

I'll say he was an idiot going about even trying this, i can't think of his reasons but when you do something serious like this(setting a school on fire, murder, w/e) and be an idiot about it your gonna get caught most of the time.

It does not technically infect people, but violence is a virus of the mind that spreads to people and can cause insanity (well, usually it always does), but in a meta-physical sense it is.

Threats are stupid. If you're going to do something illegal, it's usually best to say nothing and just do it. Preventing criminal acts is lot more difficult when they are unexpected.

well, its just that today we do many things as a joke, especially when someone posts the news of them about to burn down a school on a world-wide website, so we think "LOL" and not "Phone the Cops" Although I do get what you are saying, we shouldn't take everything so literal, or we'll end up with people unable to give people a handshake in fear of physical attack to one of the persons.
