Ah, I see.

I look for Fairtrade, because that way I know where the coffee has come from. They always tell you, and that way we are able to make various distinctions between what can be considered to be better in terms of region.

I must admit, I don't look out for Fairtrade for the sake of the 3rd World Countries. Perhaps I'm not the most considerate person in the world, but I applaud Fairtrade in there efforts to help create a fairer market for the people who have worked hard to help create it. Fairtrade brands have a noticeably richer flavour - if not more expensive.

I ordered this. I now plan to put it to use in 'The Peoples Coffee Club'.

Judgementally we can then hopefully instigate some debate. Spice things up abit, and come to some ground terms; for example what we can agree is the most Seriously Uncool, and Sub Zero, big time Café Monopoly.

Yes, its the right site.

Damn. Them owls look tasty! Now I just have to find a way to get this shipped into jolly ol' England!

I'm sure you can, since i doubt there are any in the UK. I'm sure they would ship internationaly if thay had to.

Is there anything specific I should be looking for on this website whilst delving into my next purchase?

If you do buy anything from the site i would suggest you buy the "Santa's White Christmas" blend. One of the better ones in my opinion. Though it is usualy for the christmas season i think you can buy it online at all times of the year.

At first I didn't care, but my eyes were opened, out of guilt, by this video. It's about the chocolate industry, but I later learned that the exact same atrocities occur in the coffee and cotton industries, among others.
This Halloween, I plan to give out fair-trade candy bars with flyers attached.

Something tells me I'd like this to come out in the UK. Starbucks Ready Brew, instant coffee. Came up in a Facebook notification as a matter of fact.

I'm not sure how this is going to sell since the average consumer there just does not go there for a cheap cup of whatever. On the news they were saying that the higher prices just caused some people not to go there. I see no need for them to complain if they are not going to say it tasted good. They are just trying to appeal to the people who like to eat cheap and don't care what it is. hats really what there doing. I may try it, but not somthing i get there on a regular basis.

Would you darlings out there in the internet hotwires care to try some for us.

As i said above i will try it once and if i like it fine, but i don't usualy go there just for regular coffee.

agreed, thats why i shelled out all that cash just so i could make espresso drinks. if i used it more often, i could actually cut the starbucks and caribou coffee stops out of my budget, and the machine would pay for itself. unfortunately i find myself stopping somewhere to get coffee in the morning more often than using the espresso maker...oh well...

I can agree for the most part. Some things that i like to drink may cost as much as 6$ for a small, but again it's worth it for me because i like it. Some people would not shell out the money for it, but some do. I say if you like it you should buy it.

My dad bought a coffee press recently. I tried it out and I am overall satisfied with the results.

If only he had bought coarse-ground coffee instead of fine-ground...

It's not hard to get a hold of! I buy my own coffee now; and NOBODY, touches my coffee.

I generally only drink coffee when I feel a little depressed. Or when I just need that extra kick every now and then. I do love Starbucks frappuccinos, though. Every now and again I like to go get a double-chocolatey-chip frappuccino.

Aw man; puts on intellegent glasses and fix's up an expresso. I am an unlicensed therapist you know!

How exactly, may I ask does 'The Great Drink' make you feel better?

Don't be afraid to delve into any kind of feelings or whatever. Like any good Café, regulars should be welcomed; I encourage a friendly environment and free gossip, anything that can be solved, or was solved with/alongside a good cup of coffee.

Let's keep it relevant though, I do enjoy to relax while posting here, and I always brew the traditional blends.

Does the aroma of the coffee, represent it's taste, if not having an impact?

Why?

I find that in the same way energy is lost through Heat, the taste of a Coffee is deteriorated, subject to the aroma. The stronger the aroma, the blander the taste and vice versa...

If any of us were to open up a Café in our future lives, I'm sure the information on this forum, will provide useful. So next time you find yourself comparing the cup, please, take the time to, note my hypothesis, and apply it.

I wish to join this fine club, because I fucking love coffee and drink it faaar too much.

I prefer Kenco 'Roast to anything else, especially when it's filtered, Nescafe has a bland taste in comparison.

I usually get a Mocha Coffee Coolata with extra mocha and extra whipped cream. Costs some more, but like ArmouredGRIFFON said, coffee's worth it.
Anyways, I usually have a bite of these delicious Cosmic Brownies. A rich, chocolaty brownie covered in small chocolate bits. Tastes amazing. Its only 75 cents in a package. Not really a recipe.

I think the smell of coffee does have an impact. If it's fresh mocha, I'll fly into the kitchen or the Starbucks. If I can't smell it, it doesn't make me want to get it as much.

Fruit and Fibre, and a Mars Bar, on average. We don't keep many buiscits in the house, and I've never really thought about it! How about Cookies. As far as I know everybody likes cookies =)

Mmmm, makes me thinks of bourbons.

I can't resist that scrumptious aroma, but I always find the aroma of a coffee can negate the after-taste. Again, something I've been testing for a while.

*Sips home made espresso.

You can't drink too much. Allow me to elaborate.
When you have a Coffee Crash, it can be a cause for a car crash. What's a better quick fix solution than to drink more coffee right?

Benefits!

Reduced risk of Alzheimer's disease and Dementia
Reduced risk of gallstone disease
Reduced risk of Parkinson's disease
Cognitive performance (Short term IQ increase and memory 'recall')
Analgesic enhancement (Increases effect of painkillers and other similar drugs.
Antidiabetic
Liver disease (reduction)
Cancer (Coffee consumption is also correlated to a reduced risk of oral, esophageal, and pharyngeal cancer)
Cardioprotective (According to the longitudial study led by Esther Lopez-Garcia of Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, coffee reduces the incidence of dying from heart disease)
Laxative/diuretic (Prevents Constipation)
Antioxidant (anticancer compound. Also known to soften the lining on the stomach I believe, if your having trouble digesting)
Prevention of dental caries (Fight Plaque)
Gout (Risk Decrease)

Risks
Stains Teeth
Blood Pressure Increase Risk
Cholesterol

I prefer Kenco 'Roast to anything else, especially when it's filtered, Nescafe has a bland taste in comparison.

You know! I've never tried any non instant Kenco Coffee's. How bizzare. All are welcome in the Coffee Club!

Last sunday, I went to the movies to watch the 4th kind (amazing movie) and what did I find when we were ordering snacks? A starbucks / Ben and Jerrys. Everyone was getting their nachos and what not, while I just had a large MOCHACHILLO! Tasted incredible! It was coffee, mocha, milk, ice cream (coffee ice cream, chocolate, or mocha. I didn't really see what the lady put in) all put in into a delicious blend.

Perfection.

And Griffon, can you make me a coffee sig? (:

I've also found today that there is a small free coffee stand. I only put 4 sugar packs and around 6 half and half things. I usually have 5-7 sugars and add milk. Tasted fabulous.

I absolutely adore coffee. Quite recently I've been indulging in Starbucks' Caramel Cream Frappucino, I'd never actually tried cold coffee before but i was pleasantly surprised.

I DO have a favorite mug, it is the biggest one i have to hold extra coffee. It has a cool pattern on it, I might get around to posting a picture sometime.

Can I join?
