It shouldn't, people have freedom of speech, even if there is bad publicity.
It's not Tom's fault, or Wade's fault for putting those things up, it was those users specifically.
Besides, the news didn't give any mention of newgrounds, so as long and NG doesn't made publicly by the media, we should be fine.

I just know one day this site is going to suffer a vicious onslaught of attacks from soccer moms, politician's, and other things. I wouldn't be shocked if people started blaming Newgrounds for school shootings.

Exactly, this will do nothing to affect the image of NG. Any publicity is good publicity they say, but if you wanted to shut down a site because of the certain people that used it... I can think of a few more prominent ones then NG that could be in trouble. NG at least let them be themselves for a while.

Well, you could add sks to the list i suppose... he broke into some guy's house and vandalized it and made a thread that he was going to jail.. he should be out this month from what i recall.

There are more than 1.6M users on Newgrounds. So it doesn't surprise me that 3 incident happened. And without Newgrounds, sirtom93 wouldn't have been stopped.

Im not saying I think this is a high number of incidents at all. And plus, who knows how many people that have done crazy shit have been on NG and in the forums but we never knew who they really were, so when they disappeared no one even noticed, kinda interesting to think about.

Yeah I think that was real.

I just read through half the sirtom thread.

You know one time I made a thread titled "This is it" saying something would happen to Manchester and ended with "you have my word". Then had a couple of NG members on MSN in on it to post "and my axe" etc.

While it was a joke topic, if I made that topic in the last few days I could have had NG's detectives on the case making it out as some internet threat. I would post it but search bar wouldn't find it due to the title.

I didn't know any of these people personally, but it is still very saddening to think that this stuff happens like this. And unfortunatly it's increasing more and more as time passes.

What were the repercussions of Sirtom's actions?

You really think so? Either way I guess we'll never know. But it was crazy to see how fast NG reacted and got shit done. Within 5 hours the thread already had like 12 pages of replies, it was insane.

Just google his name, it was a huge deal when it happened... I recommend going to to profile and viewing his movie "The Target" I believe it's called. The staff has a disclaimer up in the authors comments.
