Too much selflessness, I can't think of any negatives for that.

Everything is bad in excess.
Anyway, i can agree, everything is bad when there is too much of it. Even luck! You get so lucky that you get big-headed, then everyone starts to hate you!
Yep everything is bad when excessive!
or you're so lucky that people like you for no apparent reason, even in light of you being a total douche. lucky people are the happiest.

one might consider a person's constant breathing excessive. But it keeps us alive instead of killing us.
Orange juice.
My god, I've been craving orange juice so much lately.
I drank 5 huge glasses of it in one day.
I felt like throwing up.

If you got every thing in life exactly when you needed it, life would be predictable and boring.

You must understand that in reality, you don't have and you don't own anything (don't get smart here).
The only thing you have in life is time, and the illusion that keeps you thinking about what you're going to do next.
Therefor:
1. If you have something / access to something / want something - use it
2. If you don't have something / access to something / want something - get it
3. If you think something about that certain something - you're wrong.
Please note that the said above has been approved by very smart people not including me (so you can't say I'm biased).
Everything in this post is true, and will eventually lead you to true happiness and rich life.

Listen, guys. The keyword here is MODERATION. There is not one thing that you can't have too much of. For example:
Food: (short term) your stomach explodes, (long term) You become morbidly obese.
Money: You become a bitter old miser who thinks he can buy happiness.
Sex: your body will just eventually tire out altogether, you'll get less enthusiastic about everything, and even permanent damage to penile tissue can occur. I've even heard somewhere that sex can be addicting. Hmmm...
Showers: Your skin will actually dry out over time, and the hot water may lead to excessive wanking.
selflessness: You need to care for yourself to a certain degree. Being too generous can make you neglect your own well-being.
Enlightenment, knowledge, learning: The human mind is like a computer. It can only handle so much Knowledge. Human beings were never meant to be as smart as we are today.
Love, happiness, good fortune: Believe it or not, a rich and fulfilling life must have its ups AND downs. how boring would your life be if everything went exactly your way and nothing bad ever happened? It's called excitement. Personally, I would not want to live a life of nothing but predictable good fortune.
Now of course, all of the above things are necessary to different degrees, so it's up to you to take it all in the right amounts.
Sigs are overrated.
i think you guys are underestimating the all empowering vagueness of "good luck". with infinite luck, you might just get lucky and be challenged every once and while, when you need it. it's a very subjective term.
This is true. That is one thing that I think Buddhists definitely got right. Everything in moderation.
