A zillion movies are stolen and put on youtube everyday. Youtube doesn't get rid of them, because that's how they maintain popularity. This is wrong. Someday, I plan on making flash movies. I will have my work copyrighted, and it will be only for you guys here on Newgrounds. If it is stolen by anyone and put on youtube, I WILL take them to court.
You never hear cases of that nature. Why? Because Youtube has the money to make everything ok. hell, anybody could take a movie and put it anywhere on the internet. They get all the praise. The world we live in today is a scary place.
To all you artists/authors out there. Has anyone stolen your work? If you have it copyrighted, I want you to take legal action.

Youtube does have the power, but not the money. It is only just making money for google. It risked actually heamoragging money a while back when it refused to pay royalties for the Royalty commission for UK musical artists. It didn't pay, so UK viewers cant atach music vids now. Great.
Hey there. sirtom93 is an epic failure.
Why...?

Your stupidity was evident here. Millions of people use Youtube daily. What goes on in your head to honestly think, "Yes, the thousands of videos uploaded and watched daily are able to be handled by any one group of people."
This is the reason they allow authors to fax them info proving it's their work, and the user moderates himself as to who steals their work.

Actually you may just get a YouTube account, upload your stuff there, just to gain more popularity. Other Newgrounds users have done this as well.

It's not YouTube it's actually Google.

Are you some lawyer? No... then STFU. Some people aren't offended if their work is stolen and put on YouTube because it still brings them publicity.

It enforces its own laws anyway.
Such as the one that disables audio due to copyright claims.

lol @ OP
Good luck with your seemingly pointless mission.
If you think about this case:
Charlie the Unicorn was stolen from TypeQueen, and put on youtube. That's how it became famous -> that got Newgrounds a lot of users also.

There are a number of things you gotta take into consideration before licencing, like for one, if your characters are based on existing characters of if your audio belongs from somewhere else, making a Sonic the hedgehog AMV for example is a No-Go!
The best thing to do is embed your name throughout your entire project, that way if someone does take it and put it on youtube the jokes on them because they're only really giving you free advertisement, rather than claiming fame for your work, I mean how can they when your name/tags clearly posted on the flash!
Unless of course they're actually pretending to be you, in which case you have got a problem!
But thats not just YouTube that happens almost everywhere, even here sometimes.
If I ever became a ganster, I wouldnt go anywhere without Spartan Armour and a freakin Mini-Gun, man! I gotta protect myself!

An 09'er has no grounds whatsoever to laugh at me. Why don't you come back to me in another 3 years when you won't look retarded. As for everyone else, If I say I'm going to make flash, go ahead and laugh. The person who went "ahahahaha" has absolutley no righ to laugh at something I say. They had just signed up as well.
Go ahead. Laugh. I'll be getting the last one. This thread was supposed to be me stating something. You're welcome to your opinions, yet my "stupidity" made sense. I wasn't saying every movie is stolen. I'm just saying that movies are stolen. Don't go jumping the gun because you want to pick a fucking fight. Apparently you didn't take the time to read my post. So go live in the comfort of "laughing at the OP".
Faggots.
