That's not true 100% of the time. Take the newgrounds user-base as an analogy. Many of the people here strive for attention. Personally, I think online attention is pretty meaningless, but whatever.

What really motivates people to submit their flash movies or audio everyday is attention... I mean, why else would you go through all this time creating a flash or song, and then submit it? Sure you had fun along the way, but whats the point of spending 5 - 10 minutes uploading it to Newgrounds?

They are pretty hot, but when they start getting to wild with the hair colors... and the piercings it just gets a little too weird for me.

Alright, that's fine. I'm just saying you're generalizing a little here. Not all "scene" kids are like that. Some just act like they do because it's who they are, and that's what matters to me.

Insofar as style is concerned, scene girls are usually pretty advanced. At least they are never caught without makeup and decent attire, which is more than I can say for most college girls.

The effort that they put into their look is something to be admired.

True, its almost impossible for me to walk into town without seeing a group of about 10 of them who all think they're the hottest around but all of them just look like they're colour-blind the way they dress. My town/school is infested with them. There's nothing attractive about them, and they seem to be competing for the 'most ridiculous hair award'.
Also, I find it funny that they strive for individuality and non-conforming, yet they all look the fucking same.

My girlfriend was scene, a long time ago, when the trend was nigh. She's done a hell of a lot of growing up now, scene is dead. I know all too well. It's not even a good look, all the over-shopped looks. I preffer a natural beauty, like my girlfriend.
