I had this rather bizarre dream that these creatures with string like arms were flying across a river, I tried to draw it, my scanner cuts of the top for some reason. I have been getting the same dream allot :/ I would have drawn more but the coloring was taking a while.

It hurts but spence is just being honest, brutally so, but I agree with him. Your picture really isn't all that good, and because it consists of made up characters, not much we can help you with.

I guess i would say make the river look more like water, not just a bunch of blue lines, add waves and such.

And i'll be honest to, this looks like it was made in less than 5 minutes, spend more time on your pieces and they'll look better and we won't have to tell you they suck

It would make a prety cool character design. Use some better pens instead of biros. Or you could do it digitally. Reminds me of war of the worlds.

At least your work isnt a shitty rip off. Be glad for that

Don't take it too hard, man. I'd say this is a better sketch than it is a finished piece. If you want to make it something more, I would go with the advice offered here. Spend more time on it and make the water look more real.

By the same token, you can add some details to the ground to flesh it out, enhance the perspective, apply some shading to the creature. You may approach the prospect of drawing differently and that's fine, but these elements can help give pictures a sense of completion.

Every creatures eyes are different, its what moreoverly defines the creature in question*. Draw a bunch of different eyes on paper, then implement your favourite one into the design of this jelly fish type thing.

*If you don't believe me, go on spore (if you have it), make a creature, then keep swapping 'round different eyes, it makes all the difference in the world.
