They're (according to the law) supposed to have a bright orange tip at the end, as to indicate that the gun is an airsoft gun.
I'm not sure about translucence, though.

Yes. There is a new law about reducing violent crimes or something. You can stil buy a realistic imitation firearm (realistically coloured airsoft gun) from certain websites as long as you are over 18 and registered with UKARA. Or do what I did, and but a bright blue gun and spray it black.

2 step process. First spray it with either primer or flat black paint. Then put the gloss black on top of that. If it's done right it'll work.

Well maybe its because of the fake ones looking real. Now they are translucent so you know that its only an air-gun. Not a real one.
