I have a sony camera, and I wanted to upload some home videos from the camera to my computer and download them, but it's never an easy thing with computers. And, I've tried puting the disc from the camera into the disk drive, but it says that it's a blank disk. I've also tried plugging it in, but nothing ever pops up on my computer.
I wouldn't think it would effect anything, but my computer's motherboard recently got damaged. We had to get a whole new harddrive, but we kept the old one so that I didn't lose anything important.
Would that have anything to do with it?
How do I upload and download videos from my camera onto my computer?

You aren't on a Mac with iPhoto are you?
In that case, iPhoto will interface directly with the camera. If not, and the camera software CD isn't working, try contacting customer support.

So far, 2 people think Barack Obama will be a good president.

Type what ever model you have on your sony camera in on google, search for driver, download, and install. after you get your driver installed, you can upload anything off your camera.

Shut up you Microsoft fanboy. Go be useless somewhere else.

Um...did the camera have like a cd to install and for the computer to recognize?

Well, is there any specific site that you know of that isn't virused?
I just want to make sure I'm on a safe website.

Well...I don't know.
I could find out, but I am not sure if I have it with me still or not.
Could I buy a new one?

Go off the sony site Here is the link to the drivers download page. just type in the model and go from there.

Well, I follow the instructions for the driver installation. I save the driver to a folder, then I double click it to install it, and it says :
The file cannot be found. Please install the driver.

To be honest, that is the very last thing I want to do.

Okay, I'm sorry.
Yes, that is what I mean. I mean the mini-dvd for the camera.
If it would help, the model is DCR-DVD305.
Thank you, and I am sorry to be a bit of a jerk, but I am very fed up with computers right now.
I am always the person with the computer that has the mystery problem that doesn't happen for anyone else, just me. I am very frustrated.

I just noticed, but I am not sure, that it says Sony PICTURE Utility.
I don't have any problems getting PICTURES into my computer.
The only problem I have is getting VIDEOS into my computer.

I don't get the joke (point?) here.

I never had a single Sony product that has ever broke/malfunctioned/didn't serve its purpose. After Samsung, It's the second most trusted brand on my list.

I can imagine some cheap fucks will probably whine about it like pigs, because the economy today is making them butthurt.
