Nothing is working

Been at this for almost a month now. I CANNOT figure out how to make different frames. When i watch a vid or something on newgrounds/you tube it says to hit 'F7 or F8' and it moves to the next frame. What that does on my flash is not make the image gray where i can move the object, but it makes it plain and blank. What am i doing wrong? Nothing is working...

*Ive looked at the tutorials on here and it is no help

Could someone possibly point me in the right direction?

Oh btw im using Flash 8, and ANY help would be very helpful.

F6 is to make a keyframe without deleting everything.

F5 is to make a regular frame.

there's your tutorial right there.

Thanks, that helped a lot. I was looking for the onion skinning tool which i found by accident and it was what i wanted. Thanks!

there are 2 kinds of frames

normal frames

and

keyframes

keyframes are the frames where different objects can be drawn on

frames are the interval between them

hence tweening

to make a keyframe, right click on the timeline, and press "insert keyframe"

if your new, dont trust shortcuts just yet ;)
