I got home today and dad was like 'oh yeah the cat followed me outside and i forgot to let it back in, that was 3 hours ago.' Now 7 hours hav passed and theres no sign of the cat. Its an indoor cat thats afraid of going outside, over its 3 year lifetime its probably only been out overall for 2 hours...
what should i dooo i love that cat!

cats always come home. they're smarter than most people give them credit for. my cats have stayed out for days at a time, and during the summer they only come in to sleep and eat.

Find a picture of your cat and post it around your neighborhood. Also, take his litterbox and favorite cat food outside. Lastly, look for areas where cats usually are most found, and search there.

You think that's bad? I have, on two separate occasions accidentally let a pet cat out of a cabin. At my work. At a camp. In the middle of a giant fucking forest. Seriously, I should have expected the doctor to have one, they're only up for one week rotations so it makes sense to bring the pet. But the other was a full time staff with a kitten. Did not see that coming.

Luckily they both found their way back. But I felt like complete shit until they did.
