RE5 Reviewed : 3 out of 5?

Well X-play has reviewed Resident Evil 5, and as you can see by the title, it wasn't that great.

cons-

controls, first, instead of doing some new intuitive control scheme,(like bioshock, or ,etc...) The controls stopped the game with same slow controls. The stop and shoot is a pain when cornered and the only way out is past the enemy.
The menu system is a pain because you can't tell what your partner has, so giving your friend ammo when they are full of it.
level design wasn't great. You ran around, having to use the co-op system every 5 seconds while your attacked.
The killer, in co-op/single-play, your team mate ruined it. Sheila has 2 options, Attack and defend(charge in the fight and aimlessly get overpowered, or stand there and get hurt, then you have to save her or lose)

pros-

Co-op with a buddy is great. It's a lot of fun, and you can actually play the game without crying saying it's too hard. With a buddy you can easily trick the cpu, and flank the enemy.

X-Play is on G4. G4 sucks. Therefore, this is irrelevant. These people are idiots. If you could run and shoot, the game would be too easy and suck. They just need to fucking practice. Every single game in the main storyline has had those basic controls, and there are more than 10 RE games. I'm pretty sure that if the controls sucked, Capcom would have changed them.

I still haven't played it but based on how they talked about it, I believe they're correct on their review.

One thing you forgot to mention about their review, the menu system also has another major con. The menu is viewed in live-action, so if you have to swap weapons while you're being attacked, you just have to sit there and be attacked while you try to find the gun in your menu.

To me it doesn't look near as shit scary. For what I've seen some the game takes place during midday with in clear, sunshine filled skies. The only fear that you could possible get is the feeling that of being outnumbered. Not like Re4 were at the day was cloudy, rainy, and sometimes was foggy to give it a creepy atmosphere AND the fact that everywhere you went enemies were up your asshole. Then again, I don't know. The whole game can't be like that. Maybe there'll be scenes in RE5 that are like RE4(like when Leon was attacked in the sewer by metamorphic dude) and hopefully keep my(and everyone else) heart pounding like a mutherfucker.

The whole purpose of a review is to provide an opinion (remember that's all it is, only difference between the reviewer's and somebody else's is the reviewer gets to print their's) to people who haven't made their mind up.

It is not aimed at fanboy twats who think anything less then perfect scores is bullshit, even when they haven't even played the game themselves.

Haha, overal this is just a big flame due to the reviewer being crap at the game and getting pissed off at not being able to beat it. "bad level designs as I got attacked from behind" or something like that was said. That is a good level design to keep you on your toes.

In all honesty reviews don't matter, if you like a game there's no reason to get sensitive when someone says they don't like it, unless you have an insecurity on the game and you're not sure if you're having as much fun as you think you are.

I know it's called an opinion and blah blah blah but there is really very little wrong with the game. I can understand people hating games like Kane And Lynch or Gears Of War but anyone with any interest in action games can enjoy Resident Evil 5 easily. Granted, the AI is shit but with someone else playing with you it's the most fun I've had in a long time.

Plus, if there's Mercenaries on it (like Resident Evil 4) with a co-op option then the game will probably be one of the best this year if not THE best. It has it's faults but in comparison to some other games which easily nailed 5 stars, 10/10 and so on in reviews, the faults are minor and the game is very good fun.

i've never understood how people actually like the fact that you can't even move and shoot at the same time. i'm not saying the games are bad because of it...i just don't like it. also, playing as Sheva in the demo was the most disorienting thing that's ever happened to me in a game.

Like I've said in other threads, FUCK resident evil 5.

- Las Plagas was a fucking terrible mistake from the beginning.
- Its now just a fucking action game.
- The item menu now fucking sucks.
- Its not fucking scary anymore.
- Everything is in fucking daylight.
- Fucking nobody is afraid of the light.
- It would rather fucking save my money for C&C: Red Alert 3.
- It was first developed for X360 so its not going to be as fucking great on the PS3.
- You cannot move when fucking aiming.
- It seems fucking repetitive

That's what reviewers should be doing. Most professional reviewers that have scored this game negatively are so arrogant. They talk as if it is impossible to like the game. You however. were less of an asshole. Sure, I still like the controls, but I can honestly say that your opinion doesn't make me think less of something I like.

Playing as Sheva was disorienting though. Did you play offline, or online? It's more disorienting offline, I'm told.
