How do i start learning actionscrip

I wanna be an actionscriptor since FOREVER nad the only tutorials i find is "Put this code in your movieclip to see what happens" or that epic one "I will show you how to make a 3D rotating cube.Put this code [code is like a whole page] in your flash and have fun.You learned something] i sure did.What i learned is how to use the copy and paste stuff :( BUT I WANNA LEARN FROM A TUT THAT EXPLAINS how things actually work.Plz i see like 40% of the community can script, can someone give me tutorials or something?
