I forgot to put this in my initial post, but Beck's Odelay and Slint's Spiderland were also favorites of mine.

It isn't rock, it is grunge.
But my favorite is In Utero - Nirvana.
One of the best album I have ever heard in my entire life.

Nirvana and Metallica are already mentioned, so i have to nominate Meat Loafs "Bat out of Hell 2: Back into Hell" Album , still one of the Best Rock Albums ever.

Grunge is rock. As is metal and punk.

Rock is an enormous, encompassing category.

yes, its a branch of metal, metal being a branch of rock. the larger umbrella of "rock" encompasses all types of music.
these include Metal, Progressive rock/metal, Grunge, Punk etc.

Agreed, it's a close one between this and What's the story morning glory? But IMO I think this is better, even though alot of people think that this album is not as good. Just because WTSMG has Wonderwall, it becomes the greatest album evarrrr. But no, Live Forever and Cigarettes and Alcohol makes this album amazing, but then, WTSMG has Don't look back in anger and Champagne Supernova, I don't think my mind will ever be properly made up about this one.
