Anyone have any experiences with it or a similar course?
While learning about the parts of the brain isn't as interesting since it's more on a science class level, going deeper into things like the mind of a teenager and (un)ethical experiments can sometimes be pretty nerve-wracking.
And would it be possible to make a social experiment involving this website if I could do so (though I'd still have to explain the terms and rights, of course).

I do psychology and sociology and I love psychology. It interests the fuck out of me. Sure the biopsychology is a bit shit and the psychological study on primate language is a bit lame but the rest is great.

Theoretically, yes. Although the chances of it being reliable is very small due to the participant's knowledge that they are part of the experiment. It would be a waste of time personally. You either tell them and ruin reliability or you don't and run an unethical experiment (which isn't allowed).
Yep, you're fucked.
This too will pass.

Gosh. No. Do an experiment here and the outcome is penis. And they'll laugh at it like the joke was between-subjects.

yeah, I do psychology at my college - on top of that my mum has a PhD in psychology, and has a private practice.
all the stuff we've looked at is fascinating - Freuds psychodynamic approach to abnormality (we all love our parent of the opposite sex up until about 5), Milgrams shocking study (pun most definatly intended) and Zimmerman's prison guard study.
all the stuff is insane and interesting.

I dropped out after 1st year, it really wasn't as interesting as I thought it would be. You just learn blanket generalisations which arent always true, and you just have to memorise a bunch of different experiments for the exam, didn't learn much interesting. :c

Unless you somehow control for it, ORRRR do the study ABOUT trolls.
I considered incorporating NG and the internet into my psych thesis but I thought better of it and went with the study that had already been approved by ethics and wouldn't hinge on the posts and goings-on of a bunch of 13 year olds.

I only did one level of psychology, last year. It's interesting certainly, but it wasn't as interesting as I originally expected. A common criticism of the AS Level (a quasi-qualification in the UK), at least amongst people I've spoken to, and in my personal experience, is that the courses are too experiment based. I mean, there was a lot of memorising experiments without really learning them if you know what I mean. You'd have to see what the course consists of, since the subject is filled with all sorts of different treats.
I'm personally more interested in sociology now. It's ironic, because sociology is often on the receiving end of complaints by students over here for being even more study based on psychology. Even if that is so, I feel the studies in sociology speak on a level more accessible to me. I'm also interesting in the variation of theories in sociology. That can be brought down to theoretical issues always being a big part in sociological research, while theory was a smaller part of my pretty low psychology course.
Result wise, I got a D in psychology, but I got an A in sociology. You need to see what you exactly study though. I mean, the UK specifications are probably very different in what they cover. I advise you some further reading (key studies, theorists etc) before you finalise your choice.
We also weren't allowed to use the word "retard" since it's slightly taboo at best and generally only used in American psychological fields. It's understandable usually, but I accidently used it in an essay after watching a video on this case. Yeah, I wasn't very good at psychology.

I take psychology class without a teacher. I still get textbooks, and there is a supervisor in the classroom, but you have to do the work on your own for the most part.
I'm taking Abnormal Psychology 35 right now, last semester I took General Psychology 20. It's very interesting what you can learn, how people can be manipulated easily using the different types of conditioning. Different illnesses and the general idea of the symptoms.
I really enjoy taking the class, and I'll be taking it in university, but only as a minor course.

i take psychology, but the teacher is just terrible, hes not teaching next year cos hes so bad.
So what could be an interesting class is actually a monotonous repetative class where we very rarey actually talk about psych, in 8 months we hav learnt what iq is, and multiple/emotional intelliences. :(

I'm actually taking two Psychology classes right now. I'm planning on getting a degree in Psychology. I'm currently working as a transient student at another college, because I didn't pass this one Biology class, and if I don't, I can't get my degree.

Guess the experiment's a bust then.
ffff

The only ones we learned about were a set of unethical experiments that happened decades beforehand, and the infamous one involving the girl 'Genie', who was isolated for all of her childhood.
Must be a different level of psychology I'm taking.

I may remember seeing that topic from a long time back.

That's the only interesting part.

Stuff like this is usually bullshit.

It would be very unreliable. It would be difficult to account for people with multiple accounts, people are likely to lie, etc.

I may have also learned that my brain may be much more complex than I thought, due to the fact that I can only see the damn dancer spinning clockwise. No matter how I look at it, one eye shut or whatever, I just can't seem to see her spinning counter-clockwise.
Gah.
